Specialist badge

I want to be clear on what this badge requires. Is the last boss always the one who creates the shining exit on victory?

I am stumped on why I didn't get specialist on my Naga City run. I did get the Warmonger badge which means I never cast a glyph. I beat 7 of the 9 initial bosses with only physical attacks. I beat the Tormented One with 2 Cleansing Strikes and 1 physical attack. I beat the Tower of Goo with 2 Cleansing Strikes. I finally beat the final Naga boss with all physical attacks. I dont understand why I didn't get the specialist badge. I included my score sheet screenshot.

I also didn't get specialist in Namtar's Lair. I got the Warmonger badge in here as well. I beat every form but the third form with physical strikes. I beat Namtar form 3 with 1 cleansing strike paired with a reflex potion. Screenshot is below.

Specialist requires you to kill the last boss with only 1 type of damage, magical or physical. I'm not sure about the Naga City run, but the Cleansings on Namtar would have invalidated Specialist for sure.

I know that I hit the Sun Touched Naga boss with all physical attacks. I only used Cleansing strike against 2 of the other bosses in Naga City.

Do I really have to hit all 6 forms of Namtar with either all physical attacks or all magical attacks? That seems rough and makes the specialist badge description a little unclear. I never used Cleansing Stike on the first 2 forms of Namtar, and the dungeon won't allow me to use Cleansing Strike on the last 3 forms.

Another question. When using a cleansing strike with a reflex potion on a boss, does it cause both attacks to hit as magical and not cancel out the specialist badge? I noticed when I killed Namtar form 3 that both strikes did hit for magical damage. If Namtar was only hit with 1 magical attack and 1 physical attack from a reflex potion cleansing strike, then I would have not killed him as the 2nd physical attack would not have done enough damage to kill form 3 due to pyhsical resistance.

Not sure what's going on there... No burning strike at all?

Yup. Resurrecting bosses track damage types across resurrections for specialist purposes. Otherwise you'd basically always be guaranteed Specialist on Namtar's final form and that seems cheap. We prefer having a challenge to having a no-brainer :)

Reflex duplicates the attack, so if it was a magical attack, it'll be a magical attack the second time around.

Thanks for the verification on bosses with multiple forms.

I never had a burning strike ever. I got Warmonger meaning I never cast Burnayraz. I also never bought that burning strike sword. I don't think there is another way to get burning.

Just to be sure, is the Naga boss is the final boss for determining Specialist in Naga City. Before I attacked the Naga boss, I converted from GG back to Taurog to make sure I had no cleansing strikes and to get more DPs. I also killed a popcorn monster to make sure the cleansing strike was gone. I killed the Naga boss with just my physical attacks and using Taurog for DPs. I'll try again later to see if I can reproduce this or if I made a mistake.

For Namtar's Lar, what is the easiest class to get the specialist badge against Namtar. Is it easier by doing all physical or magical damage for getting specialist.

To be honest, the way specialist is set up it's only a challenge with regards to resurrecting bosses. Sure, a fireball hybrid character (like a Sorcerer without any other good offensive glyphs) will have trouble snagging it, but compared to the other badges it's pretty darn easy.

Either will work, but I'd be inclined to go the physical route. Regardless of whether you go with physical or magical, you need to plough through a form with heavy resistances working against you. I'd say go Warlord with RBS for physical specialist, and Sorcerer with either Binlor or Mystera for a magic specialist.

I had a Specialist PQI at Naga City that I lost after attacking the first boss with physical and magic. Same thing happened to me a while ago on Cursed Oasis.

I hope that doesn't mean that you have to attack all 10 bosses with the same type of attack. If that is intentional, then it is a hard one indeed. Can a dev verify if specialist counts with all 11 bosses in Naga City. If not, then it is bugged and needs to be fixed.

Tried Naga City Specialist again. lolQuaff is right. if you want specialist in Naga City, you need to do it for all 11 bosses. With similar happenings in Cursed Oasis, the statement saying that it applies to the last killed boss seems a little vague. Can a better description of the badge be given.

Has this been fixed? I want to try to get the specialist badge on Naga City.

In my failed Specialist PQI the first boss I attacked was the Tormented One with both magic and physical which triggered the failure.

If you want Specialist in Naga City, just take a Beserker worshiping Taurog. Whenever the Tormented One or the Tower of Goo show up, convert to GG for cleaning strikes against those 2 bosses. Make sure you have room for the prayer beads. For the final Naga boss, I converted back to Taurog for his Death Protections. Converting back to Taurog isn't needed, but my inventory was too clogged for an item that burns or knock backs that is needed to remove extra DPs from the boss. I also wanted to convert out of GG to finish using up my potions. This is also the best way to get Warmonger as well if you need that badge.
