Thanks for posting that, Lujo makes really entertaining videos :)
I wish he made more of these.

In that particular run he had awesome luck with the glyphs, subdungeons, altars, and items too. Not to mention the dodges in the end. On the other hand he played so wastefully with lots of stuff, so it kinda evens it out.
It did give me a great inspiration to try some lvl1 bosskills in the future, I always believed that it takes scumming for a weaker boss, but looks like that's not the case.

The Avatar's physical resistance might be a problem, but the more annoying part is that you'll need to spend 16 mana each time you travel back and forth. If I can cook up a good strat for it, I'll give it a go.

For the resistance use RBS.
It could be 12 mana with mystic balance

I would like to see a video from you doing that, generally speaking I would like that more vets would post videos.
That would be really interesting to watch and might give DD more attention in the internet.

The RBS is a good idea, but it also means no bearmace, which has so many uses. If I can get resist shredding from another source, like bysseps or stoneform, then I don't have to give up the sweet 25% KB damage either. But I'm not there yet, who knows how I'll do it.

I'm sorry, but I won't be making videos. My laptop is very old and many things are broken in it, so I couldn't make good videos with it. And I don't think I would make for an entertaining player to watch either: I'm too silent and often overthink stuff :P

But when I'll do a run with this challenge, I'll take plenty of notes and screenshots to share.

Vets making videos would be awesome, I agree, but even less experienced players can make fun videos to watch.

Btw, anyone interested in reviving the dungeon of the day/week challenge? Or making something similar?

How about beat the game with all badges (tinker with translocation is only possible thing I can think of)
or try to brake the game in some fun way.

I did by being a goatperson with lemmisi? ( the one that reveals everything) and having a death protection worshiping TT. I used the lemmisi? I lost my DP and TT got really angry. He constantly punished me after that move, even if I did nothing.

Beating a dungeon with all badges (including vicious) is impossible. Without Vicious it has never been done, but MAYBE it is possible... but its amazingly hard... Ah where was the time, when I actually had time to play the game^^

10 badges in one run is indeed possible. I've done it in Venture Cave as a bloodmage. Scum for a lot HP boss like Tomithy; you can damage spike him with blood pools alone. Tinker also works if you scum for the right subdungeon and shop to translocate from. Adding vicious to the mix is certainly impossible.

As for Mystera's Dragon... he who under-estimates the damage output of the Rogue shall eat his own words :-P

One thing I can think of for VT is the metal spider subdungeon, because it has whupaz and a transloc scroll.

he who under-estimates the damage output of the Rogue shall eat his own words

Oh yes the rogue is utterly broken.

I also did 10 badges in ore run, but kinda differently. I also grabbed vicious, but didn't get faithless.
It was in Hobbler's Hold with a goblin assasin who started worshipping TT for 2 points of learning, at least 1 lvl of poisonstrike, probably a dodge too, then converted to Taurog. I remember desecreating Binlor somewhere along the line. I killed my boss before reaching lvl 8 so he gave me extra xp too.

Hobbler has really low stats, the boss can be oneshot if you overlevel it, the gold can be traded for piety at no cost, since there are no shops, and the extra items on the ground make cheeky easy with anyone. Only difficult badge is Ding!max but enough points in learning and nice higher level kills solve that.

If my luck with the altars was even better, I would have scored a Dracul too, who would have made the entire run a cakewalk.

But getting all 11 badges! That can only be done by an extreme amount of conveniently timed lucky dodges with a rogue.

These runs are really dependant on their subdungeon and enemy pools.

Here comes my first attempt at doing a lvl1 bosskill by meeleing. Warning, serious textwall ahead!
The rest is as I wrote down stuff during play, with minimal editing (removing math, adding screenshots).

Slime Pits with an Orc Warlord of Binlor

Bosses: SMM 58/1140, Tower of Goo 90/380

Preps: Binlor, CB, Bearmace, Compression seal, more att. boosters, potion shops and gold
potions: Whupaz, Reflex, Quicksilver, Schadenfraude

Started the game by joining Binlor and farming piety with pissorf and KB. Most monsters were too weak to survive a hit, or too high leveled though.
Found the subdungeon early: vegetarian vampire sub. One of my fave, but the plant composition was horrible.
Also I had to dig out the walls to reach most of my plants without wasting the bonuses, so I bought an endiswall. In the end I got: +1 MP, +1 basedamage, +5% att, +5 health.
I realize after some wall crunching that I should only consume the walls in my sub first, to get my boons sooner, and save them for useful KB damage on the top.

After some exploring I take stoneform and stonefist. I find both of my remaining altars: Dracul and GG. Quite good.
Dracul could give me some little basedamge, but the real deal is GG. He will award me with tons of piety for my conversions and his boons are great too.
Humility allows me to benefit from a ding during the bossfight and will give +5 basedamage, and protection will be awesome for mana refilling.
Trying to shoot for Enlightenment is also possible, but I need to see my shops and secret subdungeon first.

I also found some more glyphs: weytwut (which I picked up to slow a lvl2 muck walker for my future ding, will come in handy in placing SMM too), imawall, burndayraz, and later gettindare!
Awesome combination so far. I could brick some monsters for +2 gold each, use gettindare on my 5 saved plants underground and 3 more monsters without dinging for 40% dodge chance.
A saved getteindare is essentally +1 hit on the boss for measly 3 mana.
http://s22.postimg.org/i09mib269/slimelord1.png

I found 3 shops: poisonward, fine sword, dragon soul - nice. I'm torn on buying the dragonsoul later, it costs 25 gold that I could use for more CP and therefore damage.
My 1st sub gave me no gold and if I meet Glenrick in my secret sub I'll be sad. If I find it too late I may even have problems with generating gold via imawalling.
On the other hand a good sub and some lucky shop items could provide me with so much power that I could win parched too :D

While continuing exploration I realize something. If I'll use protection, that will heal me over 50% and cause constant damage loss. I won't be able to smack monsters for damage either - my might bonus would disappear and I'd probably kill my foe, or if not, then he would kill me, cause the monster had to be really high level.
This is only a problem if I use 2 protections in a row. If my max mana is high thanks to items and enlightenment, single helpings will be fine as well. Or drinking manapototions after protections is a solution too - but I want to get parched :P

Some wallbreaking later my piety reaches 89 and I find a spare pissorf. Too bad it's not B2P - that would have made things hillarious, at the cost of forgetting parched.
By this point my blackspace is down to 25%, and I haven't seen an apothecary. Did I forget to prep it? That would be too silly. Now I wish we had an in-dungeon panel to check our preps.

At 99 piety I convert to GG, and with 50 piety left I start to wonder if Enlgightenment is worth it. In that case I should desecreate my altars now and claim it.
http://s10.postimg.org/ntnenom61/slimelord2.png
I'd gain piety by converting and leveling up, my ding would be stronger and protections would give 6 mana intead of 4. So far I'm not convinced. If I forgot to prep the apothecaries, then I must use more protections.

I really want to pick up Imawall so I can start building my walls next to SMM, and brick some useless popcorn. But what to convert for room?
I decide to go for enlightenment because it will be easier to manage leftover mana that way. After that I convert pisorff since there's a copy, and start making walls.
I'm happy to see there are multiple apothecaries, but when I find out they don't sell quicksilvers or reflexes I facepalm myself. LOL. You can tell how often I check these if I thought they sell such potions :P

Okay back to the drawingboard.

To do something with my mana I build long walls around my Bosses and start bricking some bad popcorn.

What I find next results in long swearing:
http://s30.postimg.org/kns6jxotd/slimelord4.png

Now I'll definitely need to brick more monsters. Unfortunetaly I lack the blackspace so I end up with this:
http://s30.postimg.org/o4yu0nd9d/slimelord5.png

My shops: soul orb, viper ward, bloody sigil, fine sword, bm ring, dragon soul, alchemist scroll, keg o health. With my 58 gold I buy the dragon soul, fine sword, and keep 20 gold for a schadenfraude and a CB charge. I decided to go with this after some really long calculations, and lots of scrapped challenge ideas. Hint: I'll do a level1 double bosskill some other time.

I'm worried about my 3 hp causing problems with protection, so I take one absolution atfer I made room for in my inventory. I convert all my glyphs except gettindare and cydstepp, convert my healthpotions too. My basedamage is puny 20 points, but I've done the math, with 2.9 combined attack multiplier it will be more than enough. Let's kill SMM!

Let me show you a nice trick :) If you combine whupaz with quicksilver you will take down the boss to 9/16 of it's health.

http://s14.postimg.org/dwmb2m5ip/slimelord6.png
Or not. I quaffed whupaz and reflex, but the damage is not what I expected. I should have tested things like this before  There goes parched.
I keep hitting SMM through walls and I mix in some gettindare strikes between cydstepps. When I drain my mana to 0, I level catapult and take humility. I end up with 3 dodges, 3 mana refills by DS, I drink all my manapotions an 1 schadenfraude. I did some stupid mistakes which resulted in extra hits like not noticing the lake tile under the gore and screwing up the wallsmashing, or not saving any blackspce for 'cutting corners'.
Despite my basedamage being only 20-25, 2 protections were enough for this.
http://s27.postimg.org/jsp5ecuz7/slimelord7.png
But before dealing the killing blow I do kill 2 popcorns with gettindare for CB charges and dodge. Slash! SMM is dead.

http://s29.postimg.org/7wn75djnb/slimelord8.png
I'm lvl 5 now and wonder if I could gut the goo without any cleansings. I wasted a lot of time already, so I'm not calculating it. If I fail to, I can still make up my mind an take cleansings.

I hit a lvl5 meatmen to prep it for killing and lose my nice stack of dodges :(
http://s16.postimg.org/h9bdw2f2t/slimelord9.png
I go on to hurt some more popcorn and put my health below 50%. I really regret not keeping any blackspace now with 19 max mana.

To increase my damage I buy the 2 wards and the bloody sigil. I'm hitting the goo through walls and slowly destroy his resistance. I take a protection and use CB when it's fully charged.
I level catapult off a lvl 8 by gettindare and reach lvl 6. One more ding and I'll be able to tank the goo's hits. Goo is around 33% health. Well, no cleansings today.
http://s16.postimg.org/5qpooxmmt/slimelord10.png
After mopping up some popcorn the meatmen begin to rot. Whatever. I reach lvl 7 and see this.
http://s17.postimg.org/gc4vhvgan/slimelord11.png
It's over. The goo goes down and not a single cleansing was used. Just for fun I wipe the rest of the floor and reach level 9. http://s29.postimg.org/92vshwxbr/slimelord13.png
In cases like this I always regret my lvl 8-9 petrifications. That probably blew 2 badges on it's own. I wonder how many badges I'll get in the end.
http://postimg.org/image/3tka0132n/

LOL not much. And HOLY CRAP I spent so much time. New record for needlessly overthinking stuff, yet still piling mistakes on top of another

So let's recap. All was well thanks to my good god selection, but I wish I had better luck with my subs, and managed my blackspace better. It's infuriating to think about how close I was to 20 max mana, or 24. I could have got parched too...
At least I experienced what it feels like doing a lvl1 bosskill and commentating (even if not by speech), and having my attention somewhat divided. If I came down as harsh with my earlier remarks, sorry Lujo!

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this, next time I come back with the Avatar's head :)

Edit: just my luck. When I'm uploading the screenshots my net goes out. Two hours have passed and it still didn't come back. Yay!
At least I had time to check that parched was still a possibility after my whupaz accident. I just had to be ballsier and convert all my manapots, spend all my unspent gold on an extra schadenfraude and CB charge and take more protections . Goo would have been still doable thanks to the +25 gold afterwards. Whatevs.
