Goatpeople are... scary.

This is a bit OT but hope folks won't mind. So I've been toying around with these buggers a bit lately and I've come to a scary, perhaps Lovecraftian realization about their diets.

So their class feature says they're "Herbivore". But are they really? We know that they do not gain any nourishment from actual plants. Furthermore, the plants that afflict light ailments of mild poisoning or lack of concentration seem to affect Goatpeople even more than members of the other races - which seems to indicate that their immune system did not get accustomed to handling these ailments because they were not overly exposed to them in the past. So if they are not really eating plants, what do they eat?

Well, we know they do derive nourishment from monsters. So we could conclude that they are, in reality, Carnivores. But wait. Goatpeople also derive nourishment from both people (like Bandits, Warlocks, etc.), and also Goats! They eat people as well as their own kind! Not only are they Carnivores, but they are effectively *cannibals*. And all of this hiding behind the innocuous class ability "Herbivore". Mind-boggling, really...

Now, knowing that they are coming from the Goat Glade, which is like a popular park in the residential area of the Kingdom, the only question I have left is... How do they acquire the 90 food they start each game with *before entering the dungeon*?

8-)

I think that since you get 'plants' for killing stuff, those are not really plants, but little torn apart pieces of your victims. It's just due to the warped minds of goatpersons that they see it as such.

Btw this diet is not unique to goatpersons, goats share it too. Just look at Bleaty's dialogue :)

Goatpeople are committed vegans, keen on homeopathic remedies and enjoy long walks on your spine.

Gameplay-wise, is it odd I find Goatpeople not all that bad? It's Conversion ability is quite the boss killer. It's just getting to a reasonable level to fight the boss is the hard part. The journey if you will.

Interestingly goatpersons benefit greatly of not having all the gods unlocked in earlier kingdoms. If you only have 2 altars, and make sure that one of them is GG, you're set for victory.

Oh and I love their CP bonus too. It's the goblin's on steroids.

I should have clarified that making sure GG appears is prepping him :P

And why I say this, is that if you have only 2 altars, you are guaranteed to 'ping pong' between them, so worship becomes completely predictable. I don't even mind a 2nd JJ, Taurog or TT, GG's presence saves the day. If you don't explore too much, you can view popcorn as virtually +18 piety apiece.
