Hi all today I bought main game and all available DLCs from both platforms . Did a quick MD5 comparison

Nearly everything same except those ones :

for GOG ;

0c883072023c4fe1404e5dab0d0079e9 *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll
8dca5fc697f12e335113b93aa83bd3b0 *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-CSharp.dll
f873cdfc390be8be9374008a5fd7e90c *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-UnityScript.dll

for Steam ;

ba20044c70542341808488f5119f2e84 *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll
8ccb31d90fc9dc80292d74a75cee050d *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-CSharp.dll
6bb1e0b0bfe1b1bc2f1ccd3dbbbf9113 *Desktop Dungeons/DesktopDungeons_Data/Managed/Assembly-UnityScript.dll

Why they are different ? Something messed between those versions ? or something outdated ?

Developers please give an answer to me . Thanks for this awesome game .

Developers (aka owners of intellectual property) can be paranoid too, you know. X-D

This is starting to sound like a big conspiracy. Do we now need to choose sides, or something? :D

(btw, I think you need a STEAM-specific version for games, because of all the interactivity required, i.e. achievements et al. And no, I'm not a dev, I'm just nosy like that. :P )

If I didn't know any better I'd say the man was trying to rip the game, and I don't know any better.

It's a pretty strange question. If you do this between GoG and Steam releases often, you'd see a similar pattern for many games: There are code differences between the two distros because they're different platforms with different requirements and rules. The game loads the same data in both distros, so the only files that change between platforms are the compiled dlls.

Both GoG and Steam versions are fully up to date. Steam versions are automatically updated through Steam. GoG versions have a button in them to check for updates against our servers and if they're outdated, you'll be redirected to GoG to download the latest version.
