Option to turn off the death warning?

Postby berpdreyfuss on Wed May 13, 2015 5:45 pm

I am not happy with the red flash death warning. I think it's a good idea, especially for new players but it annoys me, especially when I just hover over the map to get to my items and it flashes because I hovered over a higher level enemy.

Perhaps it is possible to make it optional? Maybe after the mobile release?

Doesn't really bother me, but options are good.

(also, if you're not going to get around to fixing the control key altar hotkey that the new interface broke then please provide an option to switch to the classic deity interface. I'm indifferent between the new and old interfaces, but the lack of a hotkey is a big strike against the new one)

Options are good...

Can we have an option when on top of the red flash, DD starts shouting "no! don't click!", and also pops up a confirmation dialogue in case you do click, saying, "do you really want to die?". And if you click yes, another one "really?"...

We've been over this so often.

Any sort of "Are you sure you want to die now?" message results in runs where people squander resources and end up petering out into boringness. Then people think the game is boring. We have tested this to death. It's what always happens.

People think that the tension they feel should be removed and then they'd enjoy things more. That's exactly opposite to the reality of how payoffs work.
