No log this time, though I'd like to point out that a Dracul desecration happened.

...I think the biggest thing I learned from this one (other than "wow, warlord is good") is "start fighting bosses early". It seems like if you don't kill your first boss at level 6 in this sort of dungeon you're going to have a bad time?

Ew, Retaliate: Fireball makes me sad.

This is why I recommend Human or Goblin for Assassins on Dragon Isles. The Matron of Flames gives Elves a giant middle finger.

...The answer appears to be "after buying a strength potion and using up our last bits of blackspace and two death protections (from buying one from the store), winning"!

Good work pulling through, and the Dragon Shield will be a fine addition to your locker.

Absolutely! Being lower level means you need less XP to level up, and the full heals you get from leveling up are incredibly valuable for powering through these relentless vicious runs.

And I'm sure you now see why Gnome Warlord of Mystera was recommended. Very powerful combo.

Is that Dragon Shield all that good? I haven't taken it out of my locker since I got it. 19% doesn't seem all that great compared to getting elf boots.

Just want to check one other thing. There isn't any way you can prep more than one item from your locker, is there?

If you only care about the Magic Resistance than Elven Boots are by far the better item. Dragonshield's advantage is that it offers both physical and magical resistance. It really shines when you stack it with other resistance-increasing effects. I particularly like it for Paladins.

No, there is not. The only way to prepare two general shop items is if it's on offer from the D.E.R.P., and of course which items are available are outside your control.

:P

Now, on the topic of what's possible, there are some nice wins bragged about in our General Purpose Bragging Topic; also take a look at this other thread, it's shorter but very juicy: Purist + Vicious challenge (yes, wins with no preps, with the Vicious Token, also on some Vicious maps - just to see how high is up... ;) ).
"Thinker", just without the "ache".
