Source Code?

Postby SuperSaen on Sun Nov 01, 2015 10:02 am

Hey there!
My name is Sean, and I'd just like to start off by saying that I really like Desktop Dungeons! I played the alpha on the webside and it definitely convinced me to get it on Steam, and I also got my friends into the game too. I still carry the Alpha around on my main usb to kill time when I have nothing to do.

I was wondering if I could be PMed the source code for the alpha so I could mess around with it a bit. I just finished a game development course and could use the experience, especially with a game I already love. If you guys would be willing to let me use it that would be awesome!

Just in case you are wondering, I will not release the code to anyone else or claim ownership of it or anything like that. I just wanna mess around with it personally.

Thanks for the awesome game!

Trust me, you don't want the code to the alpha to try things with - there's a reason we rewrote the whole game. By the time the alpha was entered into the IGF, it was a creaking wreck that made adding or changing anything in the game a massive undertaking.

It's also in Game Maker, so I have no idea if your course set you up for that... But I strongly recommend GM as a tool to help you make things! If you're looking to mess with some really interesting GM source, Vlambeer just released a bunch of their source code for things like Wasteland Kings and Super Crate Box (I think) as part of a bundle. JW's code destroys ours :)
