Second Fidel update: Cleared both normal and underworld with the ball. I realize I've picked up some practice, but was surprised at how little the ball increases the difficulty.

I'm not sure I want to mess with the "No Zapping" achievement or just put it down for a while.

Fidel update #5: Finally got No Zapping! The last level itself isn't particularly interesting if you get there with enough resources, but the mastery of the rest of the game you need to make it reachable to get those resources is key.

(I got to the last level with enough XP to send me up to 7 hearts; the full free heal, plus one more from the syringe, was enough.)

If you like tactics games, try out Battle Brothers. I got hooked for 500 hours on it late last year. It's probably the best tactics game I've played since FFT and Jagged Alliance 2. It's like a mix of FFT combat, with a Mount&Blade campaign map, and the gritty themes of Darkest Dungeon.

If you liked Dream Quest, you'll love Slay the Spire, which follows very much in its spirit but adds a LOT more polish, both in the UI and gameplay. It's absolutely my GOTY for 2018.

I've only been on this forum for 1 year now, but thanks to your portrait I recognized you for having written that awesome post about the game backstory. I wanted to thank you for that, I never understood much of the game's story before reading it.

I bought "Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun" recently.
It is a Commandos-type game set in Japan. Well done graphics and it runs on Linux perfectly.
