Wait, it's not wrong at all. It says that you can go for max if you need to take a boss down in as few hits as possible, but that the more reasonable approach is to keep your options open and you potential loss at a minimum by going for 60%. I wrote it up up there, it doesn't box you in strategy wise as much as "The correct strategy when boss-fighting with a Crusader and Momentum is to kill as much as you can without leveling, hit the boss until you run out of health and mana, kill more popcorn to level (and as much as you can until you're about to level again, supposing you have enough to level twice), and repeat."

As choongmyoung said crusader is the immunity (and also altar juggling and consequentially resistance stacking) king. If you're an Orc you can try to cheeze momentum, but most other guys don't really have to worry about it. I might have been more harsh towards "go for fewer hits" approach because the page used to say pretty much "THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY CRUSADER IS TO BE AN ORC HUR-DUR AND GO FOR HUGE MOMENTUM". Then I change it to be about the actual Crusader rather than one particular and not very sensible Crusader (doesn't make a lick of sense in Gaantelet). Then random newbies can disbelieve and argue and protest... and in several years I see them writing about how they discovered that the crusader is more about his other abilities than momentum and essentially what was written on the wiki all along. This actually happened.

So it's not really bad advice at all. Point of it is - make sure you're at 60% if you want Momentum to matter. (EDIT: Which is what, if you pay attention, the ability icon itself is telling you. As does the gold Crusader challenge.) If you would want to go beyond that is determined by circumstance. But if you are Crusader and you worry about getting hits in on something so much that gobbling up all the popcorn is a better deal then you are playing a very specific and not all that optimal crusader.

Also if you're going for "get a bunch of big hits in on the boss" you're likely going for dodge potions. Those are actually difficult to trigger or operate properly if you've eaten all your popcorn.

Killing 1-2 popcorn between hits is pointless.

I agree it should be rewritten; it's not sufficiently factual, neither does it represent majority consensus. The wiki gets better as each new contributor adds his or her point of view to the work of previous editors. I'm sure someone will eventually get around to re-look at the page and fix it; or, in the meantime, feel free to improve the contents yourself! ;)

Though it must be kept in mind that the Crusader is not just about damage, that's just one of his class features, and it may seem like the dominant one, but in fact it's not; all three abilities are fairly important, and in some cases the extra altar will dominate, in another the immunities, and of course extra damage never hurts (but one of my favorite Crusader builds is the Gnome which - as I play it - only uses +damage for flavor).

The Avatar boss in the Demonic Library seems to spawn ???s when the burning stack pops.
Does anyone know whether he spawns them when you are outside of the arena, attacking other monster to pop the burning stack?
And if he spawns them, can you get into the arena when he spawns a ??? on the dungeon stair? (Too lazy to experiment myself)

It activates whenever he takes damage. I've never paid close attention, but I'd be very surprised if it didn't activate.

That's... an interesting edge case. Never seen it, and It'd be very difficult to test.

Tested. Teleported The Avatar next to the stair and filled the whole arena to burn him and boom, well, it seems like he didn't spawn a ??? on the dungeon floor. Or more persuatively, the ??? on the dungeon floor is simply gone when I re-entered the arena. (Actually I expected a critical error just like the cursed realm coordinate overlap. Wondering if the devs patched this along with the cursed oasis coordinate error.)

I'm still wondering if Patches can teleport the character into the blocked arena entrance, but I think I'll never test it. :P

I'm sure he can, though that's not the only way to get there. It's possible to descend into the Arena at L1, though killing the Avatar is no longer sufficient to win the map, you need to kill also the five Demon Lords. I believe at some (earlier) point in time you could win by killing only the Avatar. (here is my attempt at sniping the Avatar, I managed to kill him at L1 but I couldn't win...)

The Crusader is actually Batman.

No, for reals: Rodain designed it after playing a bunch of Batman: Arkham Asylum and really liking how the combat felt, specifically Batman bouncing from enemy to enemy using countering. So the Crusader is Batman. Although a heavily balanced/impacted Batman after it got through the beta ;)

I'm sorta seeing it, but where does the alpha kamikaze attack come in?

Experienced a strange PQI win, don't know it's a bug or not and don't have screenie either so I'm posting it in this thread rather than a bug report.
PQI was pointing a Naca City with Halfling Wizard with Specialist. I ignored it and went down a MA Elf Wizard, a fully caster build instead. After a single restart, I won (with Cheeky, Ding, Parched, Specialist, Unstoppable), and don't know the reason but I won a PQI. I do know PQI may be rearranged when I hit restart, but isn't an Elf Wizard impossible for a PQI selection?
