I recently finally downloaded the mod and have been enjoying it a lot. I have now completed all the quests and gold challenges.
Ancient Scrapyard: My first time playing this was disaster, I started serving TT a bit before I first hit the boss and after that there was practically nothing I could do. Then again, I basically view the first try of any new map just a learning experience. It wasn't that hard to beat after that until I had to do it for that Errand Boy quest. That was pretty difficult, but after thinking about the map and considering requirements and options I did came up with strategy that worked.
Hidden Workshop: I had some problems with these quests. Mainly my problem is that I normally don't play for badges. I can't remember how many times I have failed something like Faithless PQI by not remembering about it when I find suitable altar. Warmonger wasn't that hard to remember by going full Taurog and converting every Glyph instantly. The six badges run required some thinking about my strategy since both Bosses are pretty serious hurdles. I actually came up strategy and executed it perfectly until the last moment when my focus slipped and I finished the second boss with fireball and failed the Specialist badge. After that I just executed my strategy again and this time did it right.
Oasis Town: Probably easiest of the maps, but very fun idea.
Flooded Foundry: There are some seriously nasty features in this map. I did manage to complete the quest on my first try but I was seriously lucky since the frostbiting boss (Prototype 3?) was complete non-issue for me, and the other one while nasty still manageable. The true boss itself was pretty easy but the spawns were dangerous.
Lekon's Table: To me this quest was hardest in the Expansion, I first had couple of tries that ended in failure. Then I had another run to confirm couple of things with more suitable character. That helped me to change my preparations a bit and go for a win. Winning it still came down to the wire. I especially liked that while the map is unsuitable for Gorgon it was made unsuitable in a interesting way, not by overusing enemies only with hard traits for Gorgon (Magic Attack, Curse, Undead and such...).
Magician: Very interesting class, it really makes glyph conversions even more important resource. I also like starting with WEYTWUT (I almost always prepare JJ for Dailies mostly because of WEYTWUT). The class also gives another good reason to WEYTWUT most enemies.
- Bronze challenge: It reminded me of puzzles although more random and no one particular solution. I also liked that rule about killing everybody else first. That tripped up probably most people me included, but it is great that you can only blame for yourself for not following that rule in the first place.
- Silver challenge: Really makes clear what are the strong points of the class. Since the bosses each drop a Bag of Tricks it is much easier than it initially seems like.
- Gold challenge: While I have seen some comments that it is the hardest thing in the release, I did find it easier than the Gorgon in Lekon's Tablet quest. I think that is mostly because after I saw the boss (nice reference to the Mystera unlock) it was absolutely clear what I'm supposed to do.
Bard: Not so interesting, but fairly okay. Another class that improves the starting Glyph which is good since it provides extra reason to use it, just like other classes that start with a Glyph.
- Silver: The punishment for killing enemy is pretty bad but easily dealt with. The switching traits of the boss are somewhat annoying and I'm not absolutely sure how it works. I think it mana burned me on my first try when it didn't have mana burn yet, but I never really confirmed how it works since I had Soul Orb on later runs.
- Gold: Interesting map and like how the special effect was very easily guessed from the description.
Boss Parade: I like it. It gives a way to get additional challenge on a run without actually making the dungeon harder.
And then the bad part: I found a bug. I used The One Horn item on Animated Armor in Cursed Oasis with Bear Mace equipped. This resulted in not really existing
Goat ghost and
invisible Animated Armor. The game threw an error when I tried to PISSORF the Animated Armor.
