I've met this before. I think it happens when null is passed to instance builder since updated DLL does not have a clue about LV4 buildings classes. It's not a problem anyway.

As for beta branch, I think we really need to keep up with the game updates because it's cool that you can play both mod and base game if you have it in two separate folders. With the beta branch for those who wants to play mod, it gets more complicated.

Whew, those quests for the Hidden Workshop... none too easy. Rolled over the Tinker one on my third run with the help of the chronically underused RBS then thought I'd bring out the cheese titans for the six badges one. First attempt was the Taurogzerker with Warmonger but ultimately it's a magic-user dungeon so that didn't quite fly. The glorious Orc Rogue of JJ with Namtar's (and Apheelsik for good measure) started with a level 6 kill and looked to be in the bag until I ran into the unfortunate hurdle of me forgetting about Specialist while fighting Goodusa. Second was the ultimate god of fireballs - Elf Assassin of JJ (Mage plate + Quest items + transloc is a very healthy chance of a Crystal Ball, which showed up *and* I got Bludtopowa), which was a short and violent adventure with 30 mana.

Hidden Workshop opinions -

- The boss mechanic is excellent, makes you decide which to engage first on the basis of your build and while it's obviously a very good dungeon for spellcasters overall (then again, so is literally anything without Retaliate: Fireball), it does cater to different builds enough.
- The new monsters are interesting without being too enormously specific.
- Vicious Token is going to be interesting; I have a few ideas. Might try with a Chemist. I'd expect you can Rat Monarch it to death as well.
- Unstable is a little confusing in all its various interactions, especially as it's introduced together with First Strike. Maybe this is a rtfm issue as I wanted to discover how it worked through experiment.
- Hard dungeons which are hard. Good thing.

I'm by no means a super player, but I'm giving this a shot. I need tips, though. I'm trying to do Hidden Workshop's quests, and I'm walled out by Tinker Warmonger. It's overwhelming, there's never any situation where I'm not losing half my life in any attack, and with no glyph skills to even the odds, I find myself on a downward slope all the way to unbeatable bosses, if I even make it that far. I did the 6 badge quest by using the dragon shield paladin setup to reduce some of this damage and scumming for a good start, but this is something else entirely... What sort of strategy should I be aiming for? I've been using the Really Big Sword, but for all the help it offers vs goodusa and normal goos, it hinders general leveling because my popcorn can kill me just as easily as anything else. I've been experiementing with gods, but most of them require glyph use to keep the piety coming, and those that don't tend to hate my health potions that I need. I'm stumped.

I have everything vanilla unlocked, so no need to think around items I may not have access to.

FYI: The mod doesn't work with tonight's update, so if you'd like to give it a try, first go to the Betas tab for Desktop Dungeons in Steam and select the "Legacy" version. That will work with the mod and everything should be hunky dory :)

Little progress report so you guys know SOMEONE is playing your mod and enjoying it; the two vicious dungeons haven't been beat yet, but I WOULD have got the flooded foundry done if the boss didn't spam curse golems and midway through and I didn't stupidly convert Halpmeh (my DR and lifesteal basically let me heal off the boss, so I figured I no longer needed it... derp). Lekon's Table seems more than beatable if I focused down on it, which probably means there's some cruel gimmick waiting in the boss fight I don't know about. What I've been doing, is the quests. Nailed Errand Boy part 1, and tore through 2 of the 3 monster party quests. Been farming gold up to supply my prep abuse to keep trying, but I THINK I got this vicious steel monster party in the bag if I go taurog berserker with body pact and get ahold of a getindere.

Update: all quests cleared. I'm not really proud of the methods I used for Errand Boy 3, but whatever gets the job done! What I did was prep balanced dagger, and just kept trying again and again until three of the four following showed up; vampiric blade, plate mail, Binlor, and Pactmaker.

Went all out tank build. I almost won 2 or 3 times before the one that made it, but screwed myself by converting endiswall and ended up having the boss trapped in an area I couldn't reach. Another winning attempt wasn't aware of the nasty low-health surprise, and another still died to a misclick. Still, it all came together, I slaughtered all the goats, and killed the boss who was powerless to stop me.

Up next is class challenges and puzzles, and then I'll have "100%'d" everything in the current patch. I'm not too sure I really have the motivation to do those, though, but who knows, I also said I was "done" when I unlocked the two vicious dungeons. With that said, thank you guys. You've made something special, and while the DD community is small and niche, your mod has done a lot in actually expanding the game. New mechanics, new gimmicks, it's all very well done, if not slightly on the hard side (if it were up to me, I'd lower the monster strengths just a tad so that the difficulty isn't such night and day from the main game, leave the extreme challenges to PQI and Vicious Token.) and I'm eagerly awaiting the next chunk of the expansion. Any ETA on that?
