That is the build I used to clear all hard curious dungeons. It is easy to play and scout out a dungeon. Now that I know more about the dungeon, I would enter it differently. Thought about a Human Paladin of Dracul

Have you seen the final boss? I don't want to spoil the dungeon for you if you haven't.

I figured Troll Lab would be problematic for Monk with all the Fast Regen enemies, but it wasn't that hard:

Very poor play on my part throughout, in particular I could have taken out the Claws if I had prepped salves. Still not even a close run, and at one point I think I regen-fought a level 8 Rock Troll at level 4, which is kind of ridiculous. Monk really is very strong, it's been a while since I've played this class.
Here is a video, if anyone is interested.

Yep, Troll VGT is an unsurprisingly easy clear--the loss in resists is easily made up in the sheer volume of tiles refunded throughout--but your success with monk in Troll Lab is rather surprising. I suppose it makes sense in that Trolls are really quite melee friendly as long as you *aren't* regen fighting, and monks are just sufficiently OP at regen fighting that they can overcome even the disadvantage in that area due to their resists. Plus, the low number of magic attackers there helps quite a bit too.

Also, I support Heretic with Cursed Cutlass as a very consistent build for anywhere. It's adaptable, starts with a significant edge, and can build on that easily. It runs out of staying power in some Vicious due to generalists being, broadly speaking, weaker than specialists, but I love it as a scouting class. Plus, Heretic is just fun to play since god spawns give you drastically different runs. Agreed with shade that human is the right choice though. Between cutlass and your early +3-5 BD from indulgences, human is far better in late game and practically as good early on.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Moving this here from the other thread.

Anyway, cleared EB Curious with a Paladin! Titan Guitar is also a very strong prep for this run. For a caster, I prefer Soul Sphere. Thankfully you can't prep both, since that would be pretty ridiculously broken here.

Paladin is a decent class for the dungeon thanks to the free HALPMEH, and has a much easier time with the later areas since you cap your resists much earlier.

Cleared Curious Naga City with a Monk! http://prntscr.com/lup428
Had some failed attempts with Taurog -> Dracul thanks to only 30% magic resist and the large amount of magic bosses (I think there are 8). I like this strategy a lot better. 75/75 resists, 3 stacks of poison strike, and a stack of life steal make for a pretty much invincible build, let alone the double regen.

Nice!
Fido + Binlor was indeed what I would have tried myself first.
You can farm a fair amount of piety and Magical Resistances like this.

The corrosive strike + knockback is nice, but it didn't seem to make a big difference in the end anyway.

With the huge amount of gold there, you could have stayed with TT until the end!
