Got this at the end of the quest. Trying to figure out how they can be useful?

When worn, gives you 5 stacks of corrosion, but makes your attacks apply corrosion on monsters (it stacks). Costs 70 to prepare from locker.

Taking 5 extra damage is rather brutal in the beginning, and towards the end, it doesn't do very much. Yea, you could attack the boss early and make the boss take a tad more damage, but still compared to a simple increase in base attack power item, you would need to stack quite a lot before it start paying off. I could possibly see it being useful against monsters that have a really high physical resist, but I don't think its worth using even against tower of goo.

Try using it with a warlord. Free CYDSTEPP makes corrosion a lot less scary on your end, and you can also abuse this to corrode the boss at low levels, when you'll be wasting exploration anyway (although scouting them out might not be a bad idea).

Conceptually the item works. The theory behind regeneration fighting is that your damage ratio beats the enemy's regeneration ratio, and making the enemy take more damage helps the first aspect. With enough attacks you can turn a "can't possibly regen outfight" monster into a "possible" win.

Mathematically, I don't know if works out though. Seems like you'll run out of regeneration tiles way beforehand.

Warlord probably could use it to kill bosses very early?

Without the penalty the wraps might possibly be worth preparing or buying. With the penalty they're just bad. They may help late game, but early game using these is a death sentence. Starting off with 5 corrosion means you can kiss about 30 bonus exp goodbye.
