Highest damage possible

Just for fun, I wanted to see what the highest possible damage I could get was, after a few runs of Havendale Bridge I ended up with a 335 damage Orc Berserker.

Preperations I took in was Whurrgarbl sword, +2 sword (which I later converted), Swap: HP for ATK, Black market, Adventurer's allowance, shop scroll and scout Altar.

For the strategy I took Taurog and grabbed the Blade and boots then switched to GG and grabbed humility and finally enlightenment, which gives you +5 attack, 100 conversion points and 15% resists.

I chose Havendale Bridge because the troll drops a conversion stone (300 conversion points) and also enemies drop those magic resist pendants which can also be converted, there's also magic damage enemies which are very easy to level up with as Berserker. Also most of the level 1-2 enemies are clustered together at the start so you can kill them all before switching to GG and avoid losing piety.

I was pretty lucky with shops because one had a Fine Sword, although if I could have nabbed a trisword this would have been even better.

Before killing the boss my damage was 322, killing the boss gave me a level up to finish with 335 damage at level 9 (aka level 10 without humility)

What you should have done it bringing another Sensation Stone and use Rogue instead of Berserker -- the latter might not be ideal because of the map and enemies, but this is purely theoretical.

Let's see.

ATK: 30% class + 50% bonus + 20% Cliffstompers = 100%, which means the Whurrgarbl sword gives you a total of 45% ATK bonus. That's hardly great.

Damage: 50 Base + 16 Item +5 Enlightenment = 71, which means the Conversion accounts for 66 points of damage. That's 11 full conversions. So what happens if you add another three levels of conversion?

That would be another 12 + 13 + 14 = 39 points of damage. The blacksmith can give you another +2 Sword as well. Which means the final base Damage will be 178.

A Rogue with a Sensation Stone will start with 50% class damage bonus but benefit zero from the Whurrgarbl sword, which means the end ATK bonus will be 120%.

So the final damage will be 178 * 2.2 = 391.

Again, this is purely theoretical.

I like it fall_ark, practically speaking bringing in a second stone is even better because it frees up another inventory slot, and there's also a chance you can find a Whurrgarbl at a shop anyway. The disadvantage is you have to go and farm the stone.

However in regards to Rogue vs Berserker, In practice Berserker actually does more damage because you get the additional 30% from attacking a higher level foe, so most of your late game fights will be fought with a 60% damage bonus (versus the 50% from rogues), also with Rogue you just won't have enough hitpoints to take on the boss. Although Rogue does get automatic first strike so if you can get your damage high enough you could possibly 1 shot everything so it doesn't matter, this particular boss has over 500 hitpoints and does 180 damage a shot so it's going to be hard to pull this off with rogue.
