I think the Efreet suggestion could be a pretty meaningful race if it were changed to a permanent boost of one fireball damage per level. Not sure what the conversion rate should be (maybe 200 points?). But as it is I think it's already difficult to give elf and gnome comparable playtime relative to each other, and introducing a third caster-based race only makes that worse.
What I'm much more interested to see is how the race building upgrades will work. Does anyone know what the plan is for that? I haven't the faintest idea what they would do, but I like the fact that the button is there.

I wasn't even aware there was reptilian kobolds. Doesn't sound very appealing.

There are also humanoid kobalds, for that matter.
(the mythical variety of kobald I was first introduced to was something akin to a really malicious gnome)

Good point on the enlightenment. That would really make the angel cheap, perhaps 10 faith or 200 for god indulgence?

Indulgence is very niche. Gods don't punish you unless your piety falls below 0, which for many gods and class playstyles just never happens in a realistic scenario, or if it does happen it's a systemic problem and you're just going to get penalized repeatedly.
