As Dis said in the other posts, the Special Edition is really just if you want to help us out, and the bonus things are just for fun. You don't need the Special Edition to to enjoy the full game.

Yup, the pre-orders will still be active during beta. Although after the initial teething phase (in which everything inevitably goes horribly wrong) the price might come up a little bit, seeing as there's something playable as soon as you buy
