QCF Begins

I've been studying Game Design for the past year or so, and I've been meeting many interesting people. We regularly talk about what we've done and plan to do in the future. There aren't that many that are going Indy though it seems...

And I've been wondering, how did QCF come to exist?
We know things about your money loving policies of doom and forbidden goat worshipping rituals, but the origin is still shrouded in mystery...

Care to tell us what happened? I'd be delighted to know what kind of twisted fate made this all possible!

QCF grew directly out of a South African game development community I started accidentally in 2005. We just kept making things as individuals until people started paying for specific things to be made, eventually I had too much work to do on my own so I started a company.

I've always wanted to go the indie route, ever since reading about Popcap and Introversion when I was at university. I also didn't really want to leave SA and go overseas just to be another cog in a franchise machine. So I didn't :)
