Black screen when selecting first tutorial

As usual, when there's a new friday update, I delete my current save game and start again from scratch.
After the first two pop up messages, when starting my new game, I can select a dungeon called tutorial on the map.
After selecting tutorial, the play area just appears as a non functioning completely black screen.
HELP!
I'm playing on a Chrome browser (tried on I.E. and Firefox with exact same results.) I tried reinstalling unity as well and checked to see if there was an undownloaded update for Chrome.
