Lost progress between Steam & Firefox Sessions

I tend to play on a few different computers (windows & mac) and in a few different modes (firefox & steam). When I just booted up the game through Steam on my Mac, I found that while my quest progress is accurate, I have lost a lot of other progress. Specifically, my witch (and parts 1-4 of her quest are not completed) is gone, the Tinker is gone, I lost a few gods (Dracul, the Crazy guy, and the Magic one), and the Orc race. How did I lose some progress but not all? For example, when I was playing on my windows 7 machine through firefox a few hours ago, I had just completed 2 of 3 parts of the Confusion quest, and that shows up accurately. Is there a backup save I can go to on the Cloud? I love the Cloud syncing, but this is very frustrating
