I keep trying to buy this on the US iOS app store with an Ipad2 and I get an error. I press the $9.99 button followed by 'buy' then I get an error after putting in my password.

The error says "This item is no longer available".

Never seen this before when downloading and buying apps.

That seems to have been a bug with the App Store, people were reporting it across multiple new apps at the same time.

It should be working again now.
