Humble Bundle - problem

Is it possible to do cloud sync with the Humble Bundle version of the Desktop Dungeons app?

When I try to link my account I get this error pop up.

Code: Select all
You cannot link an account because you did not sign in to google play.
Restart the game and sign into google play, then link your account.

And when I quit the app and restart (I see the QCF Design title/splash screen) I do see a pop-up for a second about google play games, then it goes away. I am never presented with any kind of interactive google play games dialog, like I see in other games. I am wondering if because the app was not installed from the play store, if maybe it is prevented from using Google Play games. Does anyone know?

It is possible to cloud sync, but you need to set up your account using the Cloud Key provided via the bundle.

You are correct in assuming that the game cannot verify that you own it using Google Play, because you didn't buy it using Google Play ;)
