We had Priest, Rogue, and Crusader on the roster; pretty much poster boys for Trillings. I'd have been very surprised if any other race (other than cosmetic hoarder runs) was represented this round. Also keep in mind that I nabbed hoarder on both my runs, so my race wasn't a big deal.

The biggest issue is that for someone who wants to keep their options open for the hoarder badge, Halfling, Gnome, and Goblin make a lot of sense. They lose nothing by leaving their conversions till the last minute, and thus you can make your decision at the very end as to whether you can actually attain that badge or not. This is in contrast to humans, elves, dwarves, and especially orcs that need to make that call right away or else lose out on their primary racial benefit. So halflings have a pretty big meta-game advantage here, and I'd be hesitant to jump on them.

I think the most important thing to remember is that a Halfling who uses his ability loses 7 points (Hoarder and Feeling Parched). A Human who uses his ability only loses 4 points (Hoarder).

So there's already a bit of a -3 built in. I just think that the Priest bonus successfully offsets that.

Put differently, I'd rather change the Priest to +3 before making the Halfling -1.

Metrics time! Given the low number of participants I counted the best submission each person gave for each class (giving double-entries for q3 and gjaustin). Here's the breadown of the most influential scoring badges:

Warmonger (420) - very widely-used badge; Dreamdancer and Darvin were the only two players to go without it
Unstoppable & Miser (369) - every single scoring run grabbed these badges
Ding! Max (204) - almost everyone got this badge; it's brought down only by being a low-value badge to begin with
Purist (180) - this badge was rarely-used, but those who did go for it scored fairly highly
Faithless (172) - largely the same story as purist; rarely used, but those who took it scored well
Parched (171) - pulled down by the huge halfling presence
Hoarder (156) - very rarely used badge this round
Specialist & Cheeky (123) - unsurprisingly everyone grabbed these yet again; their scoring presence is held back by their low value.

Warmonger, Unstoppable, and Miser were far and away the most influential badges in terms of scoring. Meanwhile, hoarder suffered a terrible drought with only a couple of people even attempting it. Unstoppable is the big surprise, however; everyone took it home this round. That may be a function of this particular dungeon; with no true "fat" in the local monster population clearing house is relatively straightforward for the high-damage Trillings that dominated this week's class groups. Miser, on the other hand, has clearly roared to popularity thanks to the translocation seal trick to have your cake and eat it too.

Way to rub it in that I dropped from first to third by missing Ding! Max!

Wanna talk close? I drank two healing/mana potions all game. One healing potion drank to facilitate a high-level kill, and one mana potion drank at the start of the level to fuel my trisword (I was originally aiming for Warmonger but changed tactics with an early GETINDARE find). Had I simply prepped a schadenfreude (I had HALPMEH) to replace the healing potion and a burn cure potion to replace the mana potion, I'd have been parched.

Ouch. I drank like 11 health potions in my game.

Of course, it never even occurred to me to use my mana potions for +2 attack instead of converting them. That was really dumb :(

Okay, closing results.

q 3: 23 points halfling priest
Darvin: 22 points halfling crusader
gjaustin: 21 points halfling priest

Sorry for the late close. My power went out and so did my Internet.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

If someone wants to host it, feel free to do so. I am currently not very well (yeah, worst time of the year for that, I know) and really can't make any commitments on doing my job as host.
