Transmuter is just plain weird. The trick is to use his attack boosting effect to spike through powerful enemies (this is easy to screw up if you aren't paying attention to your conversion threshold) and to focus on building up extra conversion points by continually spell-casting. The human and dwarf work best for this purpose.

The Vampire requires you to fundamentally change your outlook. Exploration is no longer very valuable; it's bloodpools and living enemies that you can feed on that are how you will heal. As a result, you want to rely on exploration as much as possible at low levels and avoid killing monsters so they will be around to "eat" later. Remember that building up your conversion points is important here.

Vampire is a bit tricky in the beginning, but becomes a lategame monster.
Tn the beginning, you'll have to use Bloodpools and maybe kill a bit of popcorn to gain levels; early level vampires are relatively weak. The trick with the vampire consists of looking for a high health- low dmg monster and using it to heal yourself whenever you need. Be carefull not to kill those; "You can sheer a sheep many times, but only skin it once."
Meatmen are perfect for vampires.

Transmuter: Use Lemmisi to scout a little bit at the start.
Spam Spells with every step.
Try to use spirit sword for easier leveling; Try to emtpy your mana before you trigger spiritsword; unlike the strength potion, it works with your max Mana. Leave glyphs for bossfights.
Other than spirit sword, I've felt the transmuter hasn't much you could leverage in general; you'll have to depend on glyphs, deities, and general strategy for that.

If you can stand the silly accent there are the basics for the vampire :)

As for the transmuter - you can't plan ahead with him so much, but he's actually pretty strong. You need to use LEMISI at the beginging to reveal the glyphs and the gods and see what you can work with from there. Whenever you convert a glyph you get a temporary damage bonus, so you can either use them to kill higher level enemies or save them for the boss fight. You can also start with the LEMISI once you've revealed all you wanted. Finding gods who reward glyph conversions can be beneficial, and using APHEELSICK to poison an enemy before you convert a glyph is also a good move. Humans and Dwarfs are ussualy good.
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!
