To answer "why not prep taurog" I will say it is just a matter of taste. For me the gods are part of the randomness of the dungeon and it is fun seeing what you will get. That said it doesn't mean I will never prep, just that I prefer the random. I have all the gods now so I get 3 :) It makes my happy.

By the way, the "pactmaker" altar prep is completely different from the other 8. I think you'll like it a lot given what you just said.

Back to work!

Part 50: There are races in both. Generally, the green race is in the west and the orange race is in the south. There aren't quests. Always go for some badges. I'm glad you are. It is extra cash and extra fun! Miser, hoarder, and faithless? This ought to be interesting. Fortunately for you it is the easiest dungeon in the game. I'm glad you like elven fighters. They are GREAT casters. This whole thing ought to be a cakewalk. Always compress the item you are least likely to convert immediately (as in your LOCKER ITEM). Pendant of health? It's not that good, even at level 2. It is frankly one of the worse items in the game. The crystal ball would be incredible for your fighter. If you are going to put this much effort into beating a meat man, you should finish it. It's definitely worth finishing at that point. You shouldn't have burned twice. Now you will need to explore extra for the next hit. You should have explored exactly enough tiles to hit+burn. That would have saved you many tiles. That may have taken a lot of effort, but there wasn't a better target. With a crystal ball you could kill that level 7 or 8 wraith. Don't forget to constantly charge the crystal ball. BLUDTUPOWA! That is incredible. You are a wizard. You should be targeting wraiths! WHAT?! YOU CONVERTED BLUDTUPOWA?! That is the second best glyph your caster can have (the best being BURNDAYRAZ). If you had saved it you could have killed the level 8 wraith. BLUDTUPOWA is the kind of glyph that should reshape your strategy around it when you find it, or convert it immediately. This was one of those situations where you should have shaped your game around it. WONAFYT was more valuable than CYDSTEPP. It almost always is. You could always do the math to CHECK if you will win or be left in a destroyed poisoned state. Convert the strength potion. You never use it anyways. You should have killed the wraith and saved your crystal ball. CYDSTEPP is still very resource intensive. It (unlike) BLUDTUPOWA is not a glyph you can base your game around (unless you are a warlord). YAY! You double-checked. Wow, I really haven't had anything bad to comment on. You shouldn't have been playing this way, but Ive already commented on that. You should have kept WEYTWUT. You didn't need that mana, and WEYTWUT would have been useful. You could have used the rest of your extra tiles to popcorn bowl. Well done. You could have set it up better, but that was totally unnecessary. The Heroes helm is a very mediocre item. It isn't really good for anything. Level up off popcorn to cure poison. Good job. The subdungeon isn't there. There is a random chance of it appearing. No one is lying on this forum. Nice job. After level 10 you just get a refill and cure status effects.

KEY POINTS: There is not a guaranteed spawn for either race, and generally the race in the south is rarer. As a BURNDAYRAZ caster, never convert BLUDTUPOWA before the boss unless it is obsolete or you are out of tiles. CYDSTEPP is too resource intensive to be used as a strategy. Don't convert a glyph until you need the bonus.

Lol, I didn't mean to accuse anyone of lying sorry about that. I actually have no idea who told me where to find the races or when tbh.

Okay, here comes more! Jay, please do the rest of Agbaar's academy and the halfling and gnome puzzles. Agbaar will help you with the last 4 classes, and the halfling and gnome ones will unlock great items. For fun, just do one berserker run on vicious steel. Also, definitely go back and do all bronze challenges. Then sample silvers. You don't do nearly enough class challenges.

Part 51: Doubledoom is a baby hard dungeon. It is simply 2 bosses and a weird layout. I'm glad you checked the panel. This really isn't hard at all. You will come to love bloodmages. Human is the best standard assassin. It's a good choice. You have to LOCKER the items to make them preppable. Compression seal is generally a better option. You never use that strength potion. Use it for a GREAT first level kill. Patches is scary. I don't use him except in vicious. God preps are great, but only use them when you need them. You really shouldn't fight a poisoner unless you level off it, and just try to avoid them overall when you play an assassin. What a great find! Fine swords are the best. You don't need to get your mana back. Just don't forget your first strike. Why would you explore extra to win without taking damage when you are going to LEVEL UP! WONAFYT is the assassin's best friend. You should not convert it until everything is slowed and lower level (except the boss). The iron man. That's rather unfortunate. What that means is he takes 100-75=25% of the poison stacks (75 being substitutable for any monsters magic res). KEEP WONAFYTing! You better not waste a level 2 goat. You really don't have to level up. You were fine on exploration. You can kill that level 6 meat man. It will just take an obscene amount of tiles. You should fight the level 5 meat man. What are you thinking? A level 5 serpent is way worse than a level 5 meat man. YES! You should always wait on drac, so thank you for doing so. You shouldn't worship him until you want a boon, and if you only want sanguine and bloodswells that should be after you kill all undead. That was very foolish. You shouldhave just finished off the meat man. Why are you using BURNDAYRAZ. Normally you always want to use BURNDAYRAZ after every hit. If you have APHEELSIK, you want to keep him poisoned ALWAYS. If you can get him poisoned and burning, you are set up to crush. Use WONAFYT! Thank you for remembering. Frankly what you should be doing above all is regen fighting that level 6 meat man. What is wrong with the level 6 meat man? That meat man is a great target. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? You have a compression seal. Nice kill. If you don't need to fireball twice, DON'T FIREBALL TWICE. You can see on the map (and you have been able to for a while) that there is a glyph one space away. Explore there and grab it! The goat is a better target because you could kill it without the mid fight level up by exploring around the goat. Why did you not fireball? One fireball and first strike is better than a hit and first strike most of the time. EM is not very good for assassins. Why compress the pendant. It is the first thing I would convert. Goats have a strange tendency to shrug off 8 spells in row despite a 25% chance for each. The random always seems a bit off in DD... Nice mid fight level up. It would have been better to WEYTWUT the goat and kill it sans mid fight level up. You don't get the extra hit on medusa because she has first strike. At level 8 I would just exploree the map and use popcorn for the last two mid fight level ups. If you aren't going to use tiles or a glyph for a boss fight, explore them or convert the glyph. Kill the level 9. You actually aren't wasting piety. You won't use the blood unless you are under 100% hp. See that empty space surrounded by walls? You want to get to that space. I recommend prepping a transmutation seal to do so. You aren't going to use WEYTWUT or APHEELSIK on the boss, so convert it. If you converted the glyphs you would save an attack. Seriously, your not using them, so convert them.

KEY POINTS: While regen fighting, APHEELSIK is more important than BURNDAYRAZ. Meat men should be targeted whenever possible as they are great regen fighting targets. Convert glyphs if you won't use them. There is no reason to throw in an extra fireball when only one is necessary.

Part 52: Elf warlords are so much fun, but you know what's more fun? A gnommish warlord with 24 mp and mystic balance. This is all about mana stacking. If you can score a GETINDARE you will be unstoppable. WEYTWUT! What a better way to make the early game valuable. WEYTWUT is very mediocre for your warlord. Medusa? How do you get so lucky? Compress your locker item first thing so you don't forget that you have the seal. How would 15 be fine? You can't beat that guy! You need 20 mana, not 15 for two CYDSTEPPs. And you've forgotten his physical resistance. You're a warlord. You will never regen fight a level 3 golem at level 1. GG! That's nice! You should consider using absolution. It is a great early game boon. You could have killed the golem with it. JJ is insane for gnommish warlords. So good it is worth giving up one inventory slot, which is the prep cost. Good. Always preserve your DP when possible. You shouldn't target the level 3. You have bigger fish to fry (or snake or wizard in this case). You should generally consider 3 level higher kills when you have humility. You can get rid of BURNDAYRAZ, but I would still avoid doing so. It is great against blobs and mana burners, so it is still worth keeping. You CAN convert it, but only in case of emergency. Patches teleported you. It can suck, but more often then not it is meaningless. You can definitely kill him. Scratch that, I just remembered that you converted BURNDAYRAZ. That's karma. 16 is enough for BURNDAYRAZ and CYDSYEPP. 16 is almost as magic as 20. NEVER FORGET IT! NOOOOO! Those were all such good items! And you miscalculated so it is meaningless. Save that ENDISWAL. There could be a secret subdungeon. Enlightenment is really best because it gives +5 mana. That level 8 meat man is far to tough for you. You are NOT a regen fighter. You could take almost any other level 8, but you cannot beat a meat man, goo, or wraith. STOP TRYING TO REGEN FIGHT! WARLORDS DO NOT REGEN FIGHT! At least you didn't use protection. GETINDARE?! YOU LUCKY MAN! That is the single best glyph a warlord can find. No. Not perfect. You should never use CYDSTEPP when GETINDARE would have worked. You effectively threw away 7 tiles. Don't convert ENDISWAL. Please no. Good, you either won't or haven't seen it. As long as you don't, that's good. You should not fight meat men. It is ridiculously resource intensive for a spiker. Kill the gorgon. GOOD! That is a great example of how picking the right target matters. Meat men are terrible warlord target, and you killed a higher level gorgon (a good target), for less resources. Never pop popcorn to get to a mid fight level up. Fight anything low level with first strike, or just more higher level guys until you are near leveling. NOOOOOOOOOO! GETINDARE actually really didn't matter in this case. Both bosses have first strike and you've already killed almost all higher level monsters. The ENDISWAL could have gotten you another class! NO! WHY DO YOU NOT READ THE PANEL! AGAIN! SHE HAS FIRST STRIKE! You've had 100 piety for awhile. That means you've messed up. If you are at 100 and not getting a boon before piety, you screwed up. That's good piety down the drain. Patches has done so much for you. He gave you 12% resists, more cash, more damage, more health, and more mana. MISTAKE! You should always level up with a DP unless you are fighting a mana burner. That way you do slightly more damage (by saving your extra hit to the next level, when you do more damage). You see where the wall looks weird? Where it looks like there might be a space behind it? Go there.

KEY POINTS: Always use your compression seal on your most valuable possession, as soon as you start the dungeon run. Use schadenfreude before mana. If you are gaining piety over 100, you've messed up big time. ALWAYS READ THE PANELS. Also, you tend to forget about first strike. THE WARLORD DOES NOT REGEN FIGHT.

Fighter Silver: These are great. Try more of these more often. Try out all of the bronzes, then some silvers. The translocation scroll is great. Your kingdom is looking pretty full. You have a lot of the buildings finished. The bear mace is not that good unless you have to deal with walls or are stacking knockback. You should generally always take the perseverance badge from the blacksmith. Wow, you are lucky you picked humans. This is one instance where elves would have SUCKED. NO! FIND A LEVEL 2! APHEELSIK is much better than BURNDAYRAZ for regen fighting. You can combo them, but APHEELSIK should be first priority. That bandit is an easy target with APHEELSIK. NO! THAT IS BAD! GETINDARE is much more effective than BURNDAYRAZ. It saves 3 tiles, and increases your dodge chance. That level 6 is a great target. NO! WHY U NO USE APHEELSIK! Seriously, you undervalue that glyph sooooooooooooooo much. That is good! Explore 3 tiles and use GETINDARE! WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! YOU HAVE GETINDARE AND APHEELSIK AND YOU FORGOT THEM?! That's terrible. GETINDARE is practically the key to the whole challenge. It is never totally bad to cast GETINDARE. It is better than BURNDAYRAZ a lot of the time and usually saves you a ton of resources. If you know there is going to be a level 1 there, DON'T EXPLORE THAT WAY! A level 8 zombie is tougher than a level 9 meat man, especially because you have APHEELSIK. That level 8 is a worse target than the level 9. Zombies are a TERRIBLE target. They are the last things you want to fight unless you have some sort of weakness. That level 9 meat man is a great kill! IT IS TOTALLY EASY! Priest silver is one of the hardest silvers out there. Told you the elf sucks. This is a boss you can't fight till level 10. It kind of throws away your mid fight level up power. This is totally hopeless. IF YOU JUST USED APHEELSIK THIS WOULD WORK! IT WOULD ALL WORK! Popcorn and fodder are synonyms. Why do you stubbornly refuse to ever use APHEELSIK or GETINDARE? It has hurt you so much. You need to be level 10. I am practically in physical pain right now. This is very difficult to watch. I'm not going to keep writing on about how much you need to use them. You should have leveled up off the wraith. You need to be level 10 or a dwarf. You have first strike against lower level monster, even if they are level 8 or 9! You have one more tile. You have this bad habit of declaring you are out of exploration before you are... The boss's hp sucks. Getting to level 10 and not converting GETINDARE has won. This run was terrible. The amount of tiles you wasted was incredible. You never used APHEELSIK despite it having incredible possibilities. You rarely used GETINDARE despite it being able to save you a ridiculous amount of tiles. Ugh.

KEY POINTS: APHEELSIK is the ultimate regen fighting force. It is WAY more important than BURNDAYRAZ for regen fighting. GETINDARE should always be used for the final strike, not BURNDAYRAZ. Those two notes would have saved you an incredible amount of resources.

Part 53: Now to the Paladin! FUN! Doubledoom really is an easy dungeon for someone your level. The whole key to the paladin is his god powers. As a new paladin player you can play him off just the resists and HALPMEH, but combining him with gods is the key to using him properly. This is set up to be a very easy run. The paladin is all about the gods. NO! Whenever you find LEMISI early, you MUST use it 3-5 times until all glyphs+gods+subdungeons are revealed. If you had just regenerated 2 that would have worked. Give it up. You missed your window of opportunity. You have to restart. If you are level 1 with humility, you should fight level 3s. You can kill the level 2, but it is a weak kill. It may be one level higher, but you can do better. A humble level 2 paladin. Remember, HALPMEH is weakened by humility. That goat is a great target. You like killing goats? Do the warlords class challenges. The crystal ball is a massive cash drain. Don't just think you can. Do the math. He is just one level higher, but he is a zombie and your main glyph is weakened. That bandit will be tough. He effectively takes out one of your class powers. That level 5 gorgon is a great target. Kill it. You can beat that bandit, but it might not be worth it. You are cursed out of this world. At the very least kill that gorgon. Meat men are nice targets for your paladin. HALPMEH makes regen fighting much easier, and normally you have 25% resists for being a paladin (except you are cursed). Don't forget to keep using WONAFYT through level 4. You're good enough for 2 bosses. That is one of the worst targets you there. You'll need your crystal ball if you want to win without some solid tile use.. Using APHEELSIK would piss the hell out of GG. Medusa again?! I thought it was random! That zombie is a lost cause without your crystal ball or a good amount of tiles. You can't switch. You're a paladin. That tower shield is GREAT for your paladin. Once you're not cursed this will be great! At level 5 you're probably done with fodder as an elf. You can't do anything without space to hold a prayer bead. YOU HAVE NO INVENTORY SPACE! Fail. Your paladin cannot convert because he is a paladin. It should be grayed out. That is a terrible level 8. Dragonspawn and zombies are some of the worst. Convert WONAFT. It is obsolete by now. Yeah, BURNDAYRAZ always showing up is kind of important. You can't beat that level 8. Just go for a mid fight level up kill on medusa. NOOO! That tower shield was so good. There. Nice kill. This ought to be easy from here on out. That boss is easy. He has standard stats and extra damage (medusa has below the board stats). You really play far to much of a one-sided game. You shut out your brain to anything but BURNDAYRAZ for regen fighting and that is BAD! Above all, what matters is not to focus in on anything, but to see all options. That wraith would be a bad choice. You need your mana above all. You are 1 exp short. FAIL. If you had just done the math... Whatever. It works out anyways, and that's what matters. You once again owned this. Nice!

KEY POINTS: Always regenerate exactly how much you need. DO THE MATH. ABOVE ALL: KEEP YOUR MIND OPEN! You tend to focus in far too much on what you know works without experimenting or trying new things. You always stick to BURNDAYRAZ, when HALPMEH, GETINDARE, BLUDTUPOWA, and APHEELSIK all would have been great.

Anyways, that's it for now. In case you haven't unlocked the secret class in the walled in tile area, look for it again.

Here comes more!

Part 54: The bloodmage! The bloodmage is strong, you just need practice. Human bloodmage? Not a good choice. You can play the bloodmage as a straight up fighter, but it is not nearly the best he can be played. Good, you remembered to locker the crystal ball. Much better choice. You shouldn't be an human, but it's okay. Patches did so much for you last time. You can improve. BLUDTUPOWA (B2P) is used to mana spike higher level enemies. If you have a fireball and you are level 1, you can beat almost any level 2 by regen fighting. The square with the question mark is always a booster or cash. Zombies and wraiths are bloodless. The hero's helm is actually rather mediocre. It isn't really great for anything, although it is a nice prep. Being human isn't the way to play a bloodmage. You need to keep popcorn bowling. This is just salvaging a poor opening choice. You should be elf, gnome, or dwarf. Ouch. It doesn't matter actually. The bloodmage strength lies in his versatility and staying power. He is a massive health OR mana tank. You won't fail. It is practically difficult to lose as a bloodmage in Doubledoom. Heck, you have rebelled against the mana half of the bloodmage so much you might as well join Taurog. It won't even be that bad. I would still keep either BURNDAYRAZ or WONAFYT. Good. Now you can still regen fight. It was either regen fighting or popcorn bowling. IT IS NOT WORTH KILLING POPCORN FOR PIETY. Taurog generates so much piety from just playing the game, so killing popcorn isn't necessary or worth it. Good job remembering the order. Sword, shield, then either of the two resist items. I really wish I hadn't missed these weeks. You wouldn't be so scared of blood pools. Just remember is future: YOU CAN WALK OVER THEM AT FULL HEALTH! I don't know about this being the worst bloodmage, but the bloodmage is good with every race. Nice job. Just keep regen fighting. You are forgetting your resists and DR. That was totally unecessary. You could have gotten more of his items. Actually, you could, but it would wreck your taurog piety. No. More bad choices. You just threw away popcorn then FOUGHT A SAME LEVEL MONSTER?! AT LEVEL 5! That's a shame. You could have used a compression seal. NO! WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THAT? Good, you remembered the compression seal. Throwing away BURNDAYRAZ just threw away your regen fighting power. You said you wanted to see if you could win with your new resists, forgetting that you were CURSED. Good, you remembered the curse. You don't have BURNDAYRAZ He only does 35 to you. This is kind of sad. You commented on your new resists and then didn't even remember them. NOOOOOOOO! The helm was flat out worse, and with your blood pools, you did NOT need those DPs. You really should go back to doubledoom and go to that walled in area. They both have standard boss stats. You have bloodpools. They are like lots of health potions. If you quaff all 4 mana potions it will make your sanguine go up to 28. Good choice. Normally you would start with mana and mana potions, but you don't have BURNDAYRAZ. Nice job. It was really just clean up from there. Health bonus means one per level. Nice win. Bloodmagic and blood drinking piss off GG. Nice win. The piercing wand is a very situational item. It's a pretty bad prep, but it can save you if you buy it in game. Platemail can actually be really nice, but it isn't prep worthy.

KEY POINTS: Always keep popcorn bowling. You can walk over bloodpools at full strength. Throwing away BURNDAYRAZ is throwing away regen fighting for most classes. Always remember if you are cursed. Also, if you have resists, FACTOR THEM IN! You were overexploring for regen fighting, forgetting that the enemy did less than the number said.

Part 55: Ick Swamp? You are in so much trouble. I don't think anyone wins this on their first try. Thieves, like bloodmages, are good at everything. They are basically guards with nice stats and the ability to get more out of their potions. Yeah, you tend to be surrounded by stuff in Ick. You shouldn't buy things so immediately. Unless you are looking specifically for that kind of item, do not buy stuff so fast, but look around more. Seriously, you like flames way to much. It is TERRIBLE! That was a bad choice. You want to kill as many warlocks (magic enemies) as possible in Ick, and you often get mana burned. You also overvalue the pendant. It is nice early, but overall it is pretty bad. Unless you see a good target for the next level there is no reason to kill popcorn to level up. It is a waste of resources, and you had no reason to level. I really hope you don't use flames. That will kill your run. If you knew what they dropped you would be smashing all these level 1 warlocks. Be careful about guessing hotkeys. If you guess M or P you drink a potion. If you were using weakening... Wow, what terrible enemy placement. You don't need to kill a level 1. You would't be able to win if you were uncursed. You don't even have resists or DR so curse is meaningless. It is a waste of tiles to prestack ENDISWAL if you could just be regen fighting your target. And there goes your ENDISWAL. Just give up on ENDISWAL. If you hadn't worshipped MA you could have killed all of these warlocks for a ton of extra damage, enough to regen fight the meat man rather effectively. What were you thinking? Always regen EXACTLY how much you need. You should convert ENDISWAL. If you kill the wraiths and grab the BICEPS you would win. Smartly done. That was a good kill on the vampire. Convert ENDISWAL. The plants are the walls here, so ENDISWAL is actually terrible. What you need to do learn is the art of clearing plants. You put all you can into a higher level target, then hit every poison and mana burn plant on the map, then level off popcorn. WHY?! WHY DO YOU LOVE FLAMES?! IT IS TERRIBLE! It throws away all of your attack for a total of your levelx2 extra damage. That is 6! YOU THREW AWAY 10 DAMAGE FOR 6! And it only gets worse as you level. If you were clearing the plants this would be so much easier. 5% is better than 1 base 99% of the time. What a poor choice. Why would you just kill popcorn? WHY? That vampire is simply too tough for you. You are on a subdungeon. If only you were clearing plants on level. That is not extra exploration. If you had reegened the exact amount of tiles you would have won much faster with far less pain. Wow. That sucks. If only you had regenerated exactly enough. You didn't want to look at his stats? I can't wait until you do. You chose the path of the mage, so don't kill them. If you had taken all weakenings you would have had a shot against Itsssama. Actually, Itsssama is one of the easier bosses in the game. You want to find that early. It is way harder. Just level up, then utilize your auto first strike. Just because it isn't good popcorn doesn't meat you should kill it. You consider plants like they are walls. They are not. There are a couple places where you could kill a meaningless plant for exploration, but instead you are throwing away your exploration on ENDISWALs. This is over. You have no shot. You could have won, but you don't know how to deal with the plants and you foolishly chose MA and flames. It's okay, you weren't going to win.

KEY POINTS: Before you level, clear out all poison and mana burn plants. Plants are not walls, so do not treat them as such. ENDISWAL is terrible in Ick and Flames is terrible EVERYWHERE. Unless taken mid boss fight, you are severely hurting yourself.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it's only Doubledoom. It's wherever you see a walled in tile.

Okay, more text walling. I'm ALMOST caught up.

Part 56: Everyone's first Ick run is terrible. You wouldn't even have been close to winning. The rogue is great for Ick. He is the second best class. The heroes helm is really only good for prepping. In Ick I would always take magnet: Fireball. It is just to helpful. Frankly, for a rogue you can get poisoned and you will generally be okay, because of your first strike. You really should have taken magnet: fireball. You could beat first strikers and you could actually deal with the 999 damage plants. If you knew the proper way to clear plants this would be easy frankly. B2P is not that good for the rogue, except if you can't take a shot from anything. Wow, you are getting some ridiculous dodge stuff. You can WEYTWUT the barbing bushes. DON'T! Dang. Whatever. Taurog is great for rogues, but he's really not that good in Ick Swamp. You get better damage boosts just from the little gems. You can't clear all of the curse plants like that. Curse stacks. If you are going to have to be poisoned, just get it over with before the LEVEL UP! It wouldn't be your only choice if you were clearing the plants before leveling up. Frankly, you would be doing so much better if you did such. I wonder how the spoons got inside those plants... If you took Taurog's shield and then hadn't been foolish with curse you could have won that fight. You can't be so foolish with curse. If you just kill the level 1 and then you can kill the meat man, poison or no. Seriously, use your strength potion if you are a couple of damage short. YOU HAVE A COMPRESSION SEAL! PAY ATTENTION! You payed for those preps, don't forget it. Why would you convert two spoons when 1 was enough? There is only 1 magic enemy. The heroes helm is less valuable than the pendant. I highly recommend prepping a fortitude tonic or burn salve on Ick, so you can clear out a bunch of nasty plants and not be effected. You can regen fight that gorgon. Thank you for choosing NOT to kill your popcorn. Mystera is a flat out bad choice. Don't kill same level monsters. It's below you. If you used your strength potion you could take out a level 7 or 8. He does less than 32. YOU HAVE RESISTS! Meat men aren't really even that good for the rogue. They are nice and easy to regen fight, but goats and other low hp targets are better. That was a very poor decision. You didn't need to pick up the armor now. YOU BETTER NOT DO THAT. IF YOU WASTE THAT DP IT WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU! Don't say whatever to curse. It hurts you pretty significantly. You cannot beat that boss yet. Most bosses don't have tricks. They just have nasty stats. Oh what a poor decision. That will end your run. You should have leveled up one more time. YOU THREW AWAY A DP! Oh no. That is even worse. You should save your DP until you are about to die. That health potion is enough. You just don't remember your RESISTS! NO NO NO! USE A POTION! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! YOU WILL BARELY BE ABLE TO TAKE A SHOT FROM THE OTHER BOSS, SO YOU NEED YOUR DP! AND YOU FORGOT YOUR RESISTS! NOOOOOOOO! That was one of the most terrible boss fight performances I have seen you do, possibly the worst. You wasted 2 DP, a potion or two, and totally forgot your resists. Plus you used more than you should of in the first place because you fought the boss too early. Note that when you out of potions you can go pick up the extra wisp gems. You better not convert BURNDAYRAZ. There is the top corner and a place walled off by a spiky plant. Ouch. This is hopeless. You'll need to hit level 9. This is definately still doable. You can score 2 DPs, a natural hit of two, and if you keep BURNDAYRAZ that is enough. Pick up the wisp gems. You could be one-shotting stuff. That was dumb. You didn't even need to risk giving up your death protection. You have resists. You can take a hit. Start by converting 3 wisp gems, pick up BURNDAYRAZ, use it to its full potential, then convert it and pick up 5 of the extra wisp gems you left on the ground. Then hit, hit, and first strike. WAIT! JUST PICK UP A 2 WISP GEMS! YOU CAN STILL WIN! NO! NO! NO! NO! IF YOU HAD PICKED THEM UP EARLIER YOU WOULD HAVE WON! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING! YOU COULD HAVE BOUGHT A STRENGTH POTION TO WIN! YYOU CAN JUST PICK UP TWO WISP GEMS! You might as well attack and go for the dodge. It didn't go up, you misread it. What are you thinking?! You get 10% from conversion. Converting a wisp gem is taking away half of your conversion bonus. There were 3 ways you could have won: 1. BURNDAYRAZ and DPs or picking up 2 wisp gems at the beginning of the fight. TWO WAYS! And that was after your very poor handling of Itssama. They were both very relatively easy too. That was a very tough to watch run. Sorry, I hope I don't offend you. I don't mean to be insultin.

KEY POINTS: Always clear out all poison and mana burn plants right before you level. Don't try to tackle bosses too early--it kills your run. NEVER EVER CONVERT BURNDAYRAZ (except if you KNOW you don't need it). If you have extra open slots, USE THEM. Please try to remember your resists. This is consistently hurting you in fairly significant ways.

Part 57: Southern swamp is the easiest normal dungeon in the game. This ought to be fun! The assassin is terrible without glyphs. Health bonus is the health per level. Since priests have high health you want to give them damage or resists. The perseverance badge is better in the long run, while the sword is nice early. CYDSTEPP isn't that awesome. you know what boosts your early damage? A strength potion! You can't beat that meat man without BURNDAYRAZ, and maybe not even with BURNDAYRAZ. You're fine on exploration. You just have to quaff the strength potion and kill the level 3 gorgon. It is easy! NO! DON'T USE THAT GLYPH! NONONONONO! YOU COULD HAVE DONE IT! Dang. Hoarder is nasty hard to get. You can't get rid of stuff or get your conversion bonus. Nom nom ups your hp by 1 per level. It's like a crappy version of the troll heart of pendant of health. CYDSTEPP really isn't that great. You will learn. The resource drain is immense. It costs you 27 tiles, many of which are wasted. You have 17 health per level. That is quite impressive. IT'S TIKI TOOKI! That ought to be fun. You'll FINALLY unlock him. It is definitely the hardest god unlock, since they changed JJ's so only one imp blocks you instead of 5. Don't forget Mischief (Tiki's monster incarnation)! Go get that zombie downstairs. If you get it later you will be too high level. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING! You can't beat a 3 level higher blob with 2 hits and 3 fireballs! This may be normal, but it isn't THAT easy. Please, just DO THE MATH! EM in southern swamp? Eh, there aren't enough plants for it to matter. It's fine to pick up IMAWAL even if you won't convert it. There isn't much more you could want for your inventory. Using clearance pre-boss? Probably not the best of decisions, but you'll live. It's only normal. Normally you want to save clearance for the boss, just like protection, blood swells, potions, or blood pools. You like tackling bosses early. In this case that's okay, but you have to be careful not to start TOO early, like you did vs Itsssama last run. There are two pieces of popcorn you could kill, and you shouldn't IMAWAL unless you KNOW you can win the fight. Good. You seem to just play better in normal dungeons. Not just getting better kills because the enemies have worse stats, but little things like saving DP until AFTER the level up. One thing is with EM you should use her boons. You tend to only use gods' late game boons whilst totally avoiding the ones best taken early. The thing with Tiki is his boons are nice, but his piety count is very volatile unless you are only cleaning up popcorn. Nice run. Good thing you found Tiki!

KEY POINTS: If you are going to prep a strength potion for early game kills, USE IT FOR EARLY GAME KILLS! Just start doing the math. Please. Also, consider using front-loaded god boons. It makes things much easier.

Part 58: There is one more unlock. If you just get the last one it will also score you pactmaker. Warmonger isn't THAT hard. Hoarder, Warmonger, and debatably Faithless are the hardest, followed by Feeling Parched and Purist. All damage taken incurs -2 piety instead of every shot except the first. You really need to start using the strength potion. It could have gotten you warmonger last time. Well, I hope you find Taurog! Destroying the mana plants means you can't use your strength potion at level 1. So much for that strength potion. Frankly, if you aren't going to use your strength potion you should just prep a fortitude tonic or burn salve so you can cure a poorly-timed poison or mana burn. You can kill him if you regenerate exactly enough. Good job! TIKKI TOOKI! That is not a good choice. Without GETINDARE this is going to be tough. There is virtually no reason to worship TT early unless you want Tikki's Edge (which is way better than poison. Well, there goes that run. Whatever. Just look at the enemy. The GETINDARE he provides you is super useful. How have you not noticed everything weakens you and has first strike! You'll see. Unless you are a mage only Tiki's punishment screws you over. Well, you might as well still unlock the goblin! The answer is you won't beat it. Just give up. Everything has first strike too. If TT poisons you you might as well throw in the towel. You are going to run out of steam so fast. You haven't even realized he gave everyone first strike. Well, that's your fault! I don't make fun of you! Okay, maybe just a little. I mainly just write it in caps on almost every key points section. If you are going to use the strength potion, don't beat up on the plants. USE THE STRENGTH POTION! JUST USE IT! PLEASE USE IT! You are a lucky man. Only wraiths, warlocks, and dragonspawn are magic. If you had explored exactly enough you would have won. YOU CAN KILL HIM! NOOOOOOOOO! Seriously, you need to always explore exactly enough even if it involves throwing away a piece of popcorn. In fact, explore in a way so that you have little pockets and corners for 1 and 2 tile explorations. Seriously, you need to remember your magic res. You can kill that level 6 warlock! You seriously have an issue with resists. You never account for them. Ever. You could have killed that wraith with a level up or now with your strength potion. I guess not. YOU CAN BEAT HIM! JUST REGEN FIGHT! Ugh. Again. You dismiss targets under no basis. If you just did the math you would see this would work. You don't even need the level up for that wraith. Uh, what about the LEVEL 9! That's a better target than the other LEVEL 8's! You can't reach him because of the level 3... You could have used a strength potion and then entanglement to win with Feeling Parched. That leaves one race, which is arguably my favorite. Anyways, well done, despite some painfully bad mistakes.

KEY POINTS: Don't get punished by TT. ALWAY REGENERATE EXACTLY ENOUGH TILES. Seriously, read them enemy panels. Check them before every attack. Please try to remember your strength potion. You are paying for it, you know.

Part 59: GOBLINS! Goblins are fun! They aren't THAT good (except with the notable exception of the SUPER ASSASSIN). With the exception of the SUPER ASSASSIN, you generally want to save his power for extra mid fight level ups. At least you know that you don't use the strength potion out of the dungeon. TT is not good early. Unless you are trying to stack a couple early learnings (It pays off MASSIVELY), you really want him later. You don't want to use the goblin's conversion early. The proper way to play is to save his conversions, so you can score an extra mid fight level up or two. I wonder if you noticed that you started next to a subdungeon. If you just USED THE FREAKING STRENGTH POTION you could have killed the level 3 off the bat, and avoided a lot of this messiness. Ah, CYDSTEPP. This is the single best glyph a rogue can find. You should limit yourself for 2+ level higher kills. Seriously, killing a monster only 1 level higher is a net loss compared to what you could be getting. Always precast glyphs. You can. Wait, you're thinking? How revolutionary! All sarcasm aside, nice kill. It would have been better if you had done the math instead of relying on guesswork. NO! Why on earth would you waste your DP when you could just fireball and restore your mana with a level up. There is a second subdungeon right under the starting position. Uh, that's not Namtar. Namtar is a vicious boss who would totally beat the crap out of your goblin rogue. That's Getandafix, the wimpy wizard. Yeah, dialogue is buggy as of now. You can't find good enemies because you've killed most of them. A combination of a BICEPS and two fireballs would have killed that goblin. That's a shame. Why would you take that mana burn when you could fireball once and auto first strike? BICEPS or Strength potion. Er... What? You're trying to level up kill him. You can. Just CYDSTEPP. This is the 3rd or 4th way you could have killed him also. I'm sure the real Namtar, Beast from the Pit would be offended by this video. How about USING BICEPS. Why did you just throw away your badge of honor. That should be literally the last thing you throw at the boss(es). Always burn first on Getandafix. See, there goes your fireballs. You already have a DP. It's from the wasted badge. You could use the strength potion to beat him. Or you could just ignore the strength potion for the 5000th time. You can kill the dragon and convert a potion. The other shops are covered by plants. FAIL. There is a level 5 dragon in the center of the screen. There. Nice feeling parched win. Don't waste the strength potion on a plant. I'll lose it. Good. I'd rather it be forgotten than wasted. The goblin is best used to get extra mid fight level ups on bosses, but the lack of good stats hurts. You bought a pendant of health. It doesn't, but you unthinkingly bought a pendant. Anyways, that was pretty good. That might have been the first time I've seen you use more than one mid fight level up, and scoring two is a habit to get into.

KEY POINTS: Save goblin conversions for the boss. Write a sticky note that says "USE THE STRENGTH POTION" and put it on your computer. Seriously, the fact that you got the bosses name wrong constantly means you didn't read the panel. Shame on you for not reading it.

Re: Video Review of Desktop Dungeons and a Let's Play!

wow you have almost caught up. . .I will have to fix that today by putting in an extra since I missed Sunday.
Anyway what happened in between 59 and 60 is very unfortunate. My recording software sometimes bugs out with Unity and it did so right after I unlocked the final god :/. So I don't get to show off unlocking him unfortunately. At least not this playthrough.
Obviously when the game is released I will be starting all over :)
