While I like the idea of emphasizing the death threat, the new glow feels strange. It somehow doesn't blend in with the style of the game. Maybe it reminds me too much of the screen turning red in FPS, so it changes the point of view from third person to first in a way, I don't know.
And sometimes it is confusing to have a warning like this, for example when you can kill a monster easily with some hits and a fireball, it is weird that before you cast the fireball, there is a big warning. Of course it is right, but it doesn't feel right. Hope this makes some sense...
