Weekly Challenge Run Videos!

Postby TheSchachter on Sat Nov 23, 2013 5:15 am

Hello everyone!

Jayplaysindiegames was talking about making comparative challenge runs earlier, and so we both agreed to prepare a video for this Friday! Since the plan seems to do this regularly and to involve more people, I figure it might be worth it to start a thread for discussion, suggestions, criticism and so on!

Our first challenge is:
Hexx Ruins: Purist + Miser

Here is Jay's video:

And here is mine:

(Sorry for somewhat poor use of my chosen deity and general sleepiness!)

Let us know what you think, or if you'd like to join in!

I was actually worried that we would both be going in as assassins :p.
This was a fun challenge, and a bit of an easy one I think for me and Schachter, but definitely a good way to start the series considering that we approached the same problem VERY differently. I honestly would never have considered the paladin an option, though it seems kinda obvious now.
Anyway any suggestions for future challenges would be welcome

Well, now would probably be a good opportunity to ask around: Are there any requests for this week's challenge run? Jay, did you have anything in mind?

If anyone would like to join us in this, feel free to say so! :)

How about warmonger and faithless (so you don't both do Taurog runs :D ) in a moderate dungeon like Creeplight for example? Of course, the main difference would be in preps and items which probably isn't as interesting as gods and glyphs, but still a good concept regardless. Actually, Creeplight probably isn't the best due to how well suited the priest is to it. Perhaps Havendale Bridge?
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

I think sticking to hard dungeons with some limitations is a good idea. Apart from Avatar's suggestion I would like to see Hexx Ruins Purist and miser not using Assassin, Paladin or any of the special classes. Don't know if that's a challenge, so add vicious token if you think it is too easy.
