Should ENDISWAL be guaranteed in every dungeon?

Postby q 3 on Sun Aug 21, 2011 9:47 pm

Considering that one random subdungeon requires ENDISWAL to fully exploit, and for two other subdungeons it's one of only two glyphs that can solve them, as well as how Getanadafix can easily and randomly put you in an unwinnable situation if you don't have it, shouldn't ENDISWAL be guaranteed to spawn just like BURNDAYRAZ is? Or at least ensure that it (or that other glyph) spawn in any dungeon where it would be needed. It's rather annoying to find one of those subdungeons and not have any means of getting at them.

It should be guaranteed if one of the subdungeons that it's needed for exists.

One of the problems I have with glyph guarantees is that it lowers the probability of some of the rarer glyphs - like HALPMEH and CYDSTEPP in particular - from spawning in. On Druid Grove this definitely makes sense, but not just for the sake of a subdungeon. Personally I think subdungeons that require specific glyph combinations should be phased out completely.

Well, when the Transmuter class comes back, this shouldn't be a problem!

But seriously, maybe you should view those sub-dungeons as "extra opportunities" rather than "must-solves" in every dungeon?

It's a random sub-dungeon that only has three squares to search (looks like an I), but you can you endiswal to break through to a double enemy battle. Have you ever seen a very small sub-dungeon while adventuring?
