Have you ever tried stacking up multiple (2-3) levels of learning and starting the bossfight at lvl2? 10 levelups are guaranteed in a row, but with luck you can get even more.

Other methods can get you tons of bonus xp as well, but none let you set up 10+ dings. Also in VT Vicious most casters would struggle to consume every bit of popcorn, but not this one.

Being locked into TT is not a worry, once you reached the required amount of learning you can leave him and join a true spellcasting god.

Picking up TT's boons will net extra gold btw, good for buying additional items or potions.

I did a quick run through NL as well to check if it has any difficulty somewhere, and wanted to mention that it's worth keeping the health potions too. But as I see you've beat it already

During my run I was able to take a detour to MA, and by the end it had this funny effect:

Come to think of it, losing to Namtar's final incarnation would be a pretty difficult puzzle. You'd have to willfully arrange things so that there is no possible way to win, while still having a character strong enough to beat his other forms. It'd probably involve invoking divine wrath at the last minute.

^ It almost happened to me with the JJ Dwarf Monk - the first 2 forms were murderous, the following forms before the last were completely breezy, but the last form almost killed me somehow! Not sure I remember what the deal was, but I remember noticing it and going LOL, but then I found a way out of it.
