Well, VT HHoS is now completed, for no particular reason other than I wanted to try it. The class used? Gorgon. Wish I could post a screenshot of the dungeon completion screen, but seeing as I double-clicked past it in a burst of joy, that won't be happening.

Off to VHoS with her, I guess.

EDIT: Also to add to the victory was the fact that I did NOT pick up the orb of lusory until I realized, halfway through the Indomitable's DPs, that I had enough room for it. All of my resists up to that point were complimentary of Binlor and DS.

I had some fun with the Goblin Chemist today. I'm actually thinking there is some synergy there, need to see how far it goes.

I think the key point is: the biggest-biggest drawback of the Chemist is that her regeneration is tile-dependent, and the leverage she gets from Health and Mana potions is negligible. Goblins can pull level-ups (full restores) out of thin air, which helps a lot with their late game. Whereas for a non-Chemist the Gnome or Halfling will generally offer more in terms of late-game restorations, these races are actually less optimal in this sense, and this is where the Goblin truely shines. Of course, GG shows great synergy with both, L10(+1), and extra 40+ Health to go with the booster Health regen is always good.

I actually played super-sloppy and exhausted all blackspace before even fighting Anoobis. I know, inexcusable, but Goblins are very forgiving in nature, it seems!

Finished Berserker Gold with tons of potential mana left, and am happy ! (I hadn't even started converting glyphs, had refreshment and was gnome. The alchemist pact also brought me very close to a new level-up). But to be honest, I had found B2P and the dragon soul, which helped a lot too...

Berserker Gold is a really good Mystera Annur Tutorial : MA was my least prefered god, and by far. I think that I did only see the "Flames" boon and its scarry -50% physical damages. Now I understand how the other boons are usefull to mixed caracters.

^ Yeah, it's actually hardly a bad boon, if you've got a battlemage ring, you're half way in codex teritory without the strikeback.

I tend to dislike it because it's very niche. Sure it's amazing for dedicated MA worshiping Gnomes, but for different races on runs where you just hop into MA it's not so hot.
Also, compared to other double edged boons this is by far the most punishing.

The reason I rarely take it is that it ties into the whole "you have trouble munching popcorn" bussiness that Mystera is kinda all about with her penalty for killing magic users and stuff. If you take it before you munch on popcorn it's very bad for you, and if you take it after you're done munching on popcorn you've kinda already forgotten about it. Doesn't quite have the oomph of somtehing with such a timing window.

Enlightened Gobbo's is totally a thing:

Tinker found it, and it's also a way to play a crazy GG spellcaster, works with Sorcerers but is very, very silly with Wizards. It's still a bit of a thoughtful approach because you need to be able to "solve" the conundrum of squeezing the most out of levels 1 2 1 2, and get a few absolutions and a protction or cleanising in there for the beads, but with a desecration or two (I had 2 here), it makes for a VERY blobby gobbo. With extra mana boosters you're dinging for 3 fireballs even pre-enlightment, and 4 post enlightment, but you're also a healthmonster from the get go with no petition or even potential mishaps. A very, er, "dingy" healthmonster.

The indulgences let me Apheelsick the Matron, too, this specialist is from actually melleing her down (being lvl 11 with Dwarven Gauntlets and +5 dmg out of Enlightment is something Gobbos DO, and 5 halpmehs per pool also does wonders). No schadenfraude, no potion spiking, maybe one very late CB activation, one guard slayer wanded, everything killed with resources left over. I did endiswal the wall down below.

100 piety with GG during most of the endgame even though I took 2-3 protections. If there was Mystera on board, a swap into her for Refreshment on Drained Glyph would've been quite strong. Prepped GG, too. A swap into Drac for sanguine would be just insane.

GG Gobbos, they're a thing. Not sure how strong they are without Dwarven Gauntlets or exra mana, but I hink it's safe to say they're probably fine, because there's things that work well enough besides that. JJ Gobbos are cool and basically Default, GG is for when you want to micro for the epic endgame blobbing and really pile on the cheeze.

I think this is the A-Game Gobbo, the one you take into VGT and destroy everything with.
