Bought game and a few questions now

Postby FakeBLooD on Tue Jun 02, 2015 7:13 pm

hello DD Team & community

i bought the game now and tried to create an account for saving.

Well, i gone into the setting menu and clicked on the login button
at the bottom a small "saved" appeared shortly.

But i didnt created an account there, so did i something wrong?
There is no option for creating/link the account to my phone.

Next question is you said we have to play on a 7 inch screen minimum.
So i got a Galaxy Tab S with 10.1 inch and i have a border on the left and right side.
Are there any chances for me to "stretch" the screen to my device limit?

i hope you can understand my questions clearly.english isnt my native language :D

PS: i love that damn GOAT boss mascot.
Mighty boss haha

Do you have further plans on adding other languages? I´d really appreciate it

To create a DD.net account, go back to the game's startup screen (the one where you can see the desk with the menu on the right) and click on the button in the bottom right that says "Enable Cloud Sync" and follow the prompts to create your account. After that, logging in will automatically enable the game to start syncing saves on our cloud system.

The screen resolution is fixed vertically - if you stretched the game then text and images would appear smeared and you'd probably have a hard time reading some of the text. Those bars on the side are there so that the game can maintain its correct aspect ratio.

Localisation plans are stalled at the moment, unless we get a big retail/publishing deal in other languages. Localising 60 000 word games is expensive :(

I created an account successfully - thanks for it

you are completely right - i prefer also a better asppect ratio.

i wish you all the best, that game is great in fact you are also an indie dev team. Whats about a kickstarter program for adding new content and also translating ?
Could be a try.

@dislekcia Why dont ask the vets if they are interested in translating the content. I myself am german, so I would gladly translate all content into proper native german, if you name me in the credits :)

I feel like I paid a lot less than I should have for a game that I am playing for years now^^
Time to give something back :) And I am sure, other vets will think the same way (look at the effort many people put in the wiki with no charge whatsoever)

We've been talking about how to translate stuff easily - the game's sort of set up for it, but we'd need to make sure fonts and things are working correctly. It's also a literal TON of work, people would be translating a novel.

There's a group in China that has actually made a fan patch that translates most of the game, we're talking with them at the moment to see if we can maybe make that more official.

Ok maybe I am underestimating it... is there really so much text?
Anyway my offer stands. Sure some quality ensurance has to be made, but thats a lot less than paying professional translaters. And I would guess that someone who really invested in the game mechanics can translate inside jokes a lot better than anyone else.

Err, I'm a semi-professional translator, but I don't suppose translating DD into Croatian would be worth much. Most anyone in ex-Yugoslavia would be able to understand it (when we broke up everyone called their very slight variation of the language a separate language, allthough in practice it's all the same), that's about 25 million people, but most of them also know english well enough so yeah...

(And also, yeah, it's a LOT of text to be translated, i've done this before, and there's also the thing where translating games isn't easy and being very specific about the terms you use and the consistency is a huge deal. Not to mention that translating english into languages which have different grammar and general structures is actually pretty difficult when you want precise terms, naming conventions one's not even aware of that make english sets of names look neat and coherent (for abilities for example) can look downright weird when translated).
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!
