I agree that today's map wasn't terribly challenging. I mean it's true that it's one of the nastier Hard maps, and Gorgon is probably the worst possible class to win it, but everything else was decent, good glyphs, good shop items, and not Frank for 2nd boss! 8-)

Still, I didn't particularly enjoy it, because Ick just needs you to think about literally every move (kind of like Shifting Passages or Labyrinth in this sense). So I was alway trying to remember to garden the Poison/Mana Burn plants before levelling (including, pop the burn stack before slowing the last monster, and not by hitting a Murkshade); to take out exactly one Curse plant before each death gaze kill; to take out the Corrosive plants just before Chaos Avatar; to have 6 Mana to break the statue after killing a monster blocking a pathway; to explore enough to get the boosters and glyphs but leave some exploration space because Poison is otherwise useless; and no, don't click a Barbing Bush unless it's slowed already. A bit too many moving parts for a Hard map in my opinion.

It's one of those maps where you're just prone to silly / sneaky screw-ups, instead of an honest straightforward loss by running out of resources. And Gorgon is one of those classes that can easily turn into a liability...

Preps for today: Apothecary, Attack Boosters, Mana, Fewer Glyphs

Once again forgot that the Apothecary prep was not, in fact, just a fortitude tonic. Attack and mana boosters were obvious choices. Fewer glyphs is always a risk, but whats the point of a monster class if you don't try to get leverage out of their race bonus?

Immediately saw Dracul and JJ. Picked the latter - wasnt sure how well Dracul would work with gorgon. Had to mana burn myself to get to JJ, which I healed with a mana potion - my only health/mana potion this run. Agnostics collar plus Dracul desecration meant I got to petition with zero punishments - a first for me! Over the course of the run I got a health boost, two mana boosts, and chaos avatar, with ~50 piety left for a last-chance last chance.

I spent most of the dungeon just being ruthlessly efficient with my mana, and remembering to garden before leveling (something I'm terrible at). Didn't bother with managing curse plants, and forgot to genocide the corrosive plants before chaos avatar, but hey, didn't hurt in the end.

I found burndayraz fairly early, which was nice. I could honestly have gotten away with just converting endiswal, as I was moving every enemy I saw to a strategic location with Weytwut. Picked up the Midas Gloves when they appeared, they were as useful as always.

I fought itsssssssssssttamma at the tail end of level 5 - a level up and chaos avatar, along with ~35% deathgaze and platemail made quick work of him. Bought a fortitude tonic (hey, why am i buying one? Didn't I prep one?) to cure the weakening, took another level, then level up/poison fought the firstborn. Didn't even need last chance. Victory!

I think I had an easier time than most with the dungeon than most other folks seemed to - early fireball find was probably the cause of that. I'm currently ranked quite high on time - likely because I didn't bother working around killing the curse plants. I'm also ranked somewhat lower on piety/exp/damage than usual, which makes a change.

I made two very dumb mistakes for today's daily: I forgot that BYSSEPS is lots of piety for JJ and converted it right away, and I forgot that I would've naturally gotten a ton of piety and much-needed magic resist if I went for Binlor (and... you know... not buy the Collar and desecrate everything really early on). Used up death protection and every single potion I had, but hey, didn't die!

I've tanked a hit from barbing bushes before, it's easiest to do with a fullresist Dwarf Monk, you only need 250 HP that way.

This run was really cool. Ick is kind of a heaven for Gorgons, after Monks they benefit the most out of spoons and Wisp Gems. In this run I ended up with 97 damage on a 50% dg Gorgon, and if I found Midas' Gloves earlier and had a way to hurt myself to drink bloodpools could have gone even further.

I was really lucky and found Burdayraz at lvl 1 and also came across the sub, so I was able to corrode everything to make the early leveling a cakewalk. Worshiped JJ, moderately increased my health and mana (would ave gone higher if I found Bysseps in time) CA'd against Itssama and converted to Dracul for the Firstborn. The combination of 2 lifesteal, Platemail, some MR and huge damage wrecked the poor dragon.

Dwarf Fighter, Havendale Bridge

Pretty easy. I prepped Taurog because it would be the least affected setup if I had to pay a toll, as a Dwarf Fighter might end up having to do. I didn't need to in the end. I had something like 50 gold unspent at the end, but the Taurog's Helm and Tokolshe Charms did a lot of work in the end. Pretty easy boss fight. Had spare piety and potions that I never used, but I did run out of black space. Could've Danza'ed, but I used one Absolution on a level 9 Goblin I didn't feel like fighting before the last boss. Oh well.

Sorry to hear Lujo blew a (short) streak on this one. Must've been either a total misclick, or a really uncharacteristic derp. I know Lujo has accomplished things that would easily make this daily look like Hobbler's Hold.

(Whoops, Lujo died before this daily went up. nvm, he died on the more-understandable Ick Swamp Gorgon run that almost killed me too)

Dwarf Fighter Havendale is 25W 1L so far. Basically, do whatever you want and try to get a little bonus XP and pick things off the ground to win. If you find a way to kill the troll, then CP will scale well too along with health potions and Tokolshe Charms, or you might be able to straight fight the bosses without refills even.

Had some fun with this one. Revealed GG and WEYTWUT right away with LEMMISI, so teleported to the far side of the river and began worship. Wasn't particularly fast, but I had fun with my GG teleportation antics and never needed to convert or drink any potions, plus I had loads of piety left over (and an unused pactmaker) even after Enlightenment.

Also, congratulations to MTaur for surpassing my streak. Carry the torch with pride, my friend.
