Create a deity.

If you could design a new deity for Desktop Dungeons, what would his/her/its boons and punishments be?

Llewyllyx, god of music, art, and creativity

Grants piety for the following actions: Petrifying an enemy, teleporting an enemy, destroying a wall, dodging an attack, killing a full health enemy in one hit, using a death protection, leveling up, or converting an item. The piety values for these actions vary depending on how often you perform them. If you perform one of them, then the value for that action goes down by 1 to a minimum of 0, and the value of all of the others goes up by 0.25 to a maximum of 3. The fractional points aren't relevant until you get 4 of them to raise the value by a full point. All of them start at +2 piety.

Also, +10 piety once apiece for using the Wicked Guitar or Titan Guitar.

Dislikes casting the same glyph twice in a row, for -3 piety.

Boons:

Wish - 30 piety, one-time use. Gives you a random glyph not already on the map

Siren Call - 4 piety, repeatable, +2 each time. Randomly shuffles all enemies, as with Mass01's Ledger.

Tools of the Trade - 20 piety, repeatable, +40 each time. Re-randomizes all non-apothecary shop contents.

Touch of Genius - 40 piety, repeatable, +20 each time. Gives you the same effect as Blue Bead, stacking.

Magnum Opus - 100 piety, one-time use. Doubles all further conversion points gained.

Agree, real creative! I'd worry about the piety generation angle, though; without relevant glyphs/knockback you can only trigger 3 out of 8 piety-gaining events, which would mean that you can only gain a total of 14-15 piety before all three of them have their value reduced to below 1 piety.

It might not have been clear from the wording, but even if all 3 drop to zero, each of them will still buff the others so you can still get a little bit of piety. Definitely not a good god choice if none of those effects are available, though. I'm sure that if you actually wanted to put something like this in the game, all of the numbers would require a LOT of tweaking. I guess bottoming out at 1 rather than 0 would probably be a good idea.

I like that you used the Guitars. Maybe joining the deity would give you a Wicked Guitar.

AO, God of Supremacy
AO - Alpha Omega, Ao also means Pride/Proud in Chinese (no, he's not 1 of the 7 sins)

Initial Worship
- Starting piety: (Level + 1) x 5
PUNISHMENT
- All monsters (excluding bosses) in the current level gets their level number dropped by 1 (down to 1 at most) while keeping their stats
Preparation Penalty
- Piety gain per level up dropped to 2

Likes
- Kill an equal or higher level monster
+[D x (D + 2) + 2] Piety, where D is the level difference
- Gain a level (extends to prestige levels)
+5 Piety

Dislikes
- Kill a lower level monster
-5 Piety

Boons
Ascendant (repeatable)
- Cost: 10 + 20n Piety
- Reduces player level by 1, but maintains health, base damage and XP
Equalize (repeatable)
- Cost: 20 Piety
- All monsters (excluding bosses) in current level have their level increased by 1 (cap at 10)
Power Release (repeatable)
- Cost: 10 + 5n Piety
- Gain +5 max HP, +2 base damage
Ether Surge (repeatable)
- Cost: 10 + 5n Piety
- Gain +1 max MP, +1 damage/level for BURNDAYRAZ glyph attack
Boost Spirit (repeatable)
- Cost: 10 + 5n Piety
- Gain +5% physical & magical resistance

Quite a bit of overlap with existing god boons. Hard to convert out of if not using desecration since pretty much you can only gain Piety by gaining level and killing monsters (which are limited and pool is further reduced once you level up significantly). Can make a character very powerful since potentially can get 5 times of Humility, etc. Favours melee style since even if you have a powerhouse in a "small body" (like a potential level 6 stats in a level 1), magic is under-powered since many glyphs use character level to compute like Burndayraz, Alpheesik, Halpmeh, etc. Pisorf on the other hand can become very strong.

@ ~'(^ + ^)'~ In a way your deity sounds like an anti-Tikki Tooki. I think Rats would love playing under AO.

That is, more or less, Glowing Guardian at the start of the beta. Repeatable humility plus bonus experience granted for killing higher level monsters was so ludicrously overpowered it didn't even survive a single update.
