@Tinker:

There's some "problems" with the quoting. I only tried a few times and William was the one who tried 30+ times. I guess he should have more experience and assuming his previous post somewhere was referring to this, I think he managed to reach the 3rd sub (left a few monsters).

I still think Vampire is the best option for that dungeon for this challenge, but now the Vampire has been "used"... :)

I don't even remember whether I have used Vampire to get VT badge for Hard GT (got the badge, but don't remember which class I used to get it). I think there is still "a significant amount of difference" with preps - RBS (for Horatio), Dragon Shield (Resists really helps Vampire), Patches (for more Resists), Whupaz (for H), Burn Salve and Fortitude Potion (corrosion and weakening really hurts the Vampire).

Luck also plays a big part, if you can get the Bridge Troll, the extra levels of Lifesteal would definitely help. Not saying it is not possible, just that it would be really hard.

Sidetracked a little, so I also wanted to get Gorgon out of the way, :)

At least I tried to do it somewhere other than Hobbler's Hold, wouldn't want to hurt poor Lord Gobb anymore, :P Dracul definitely is powerful, I "underestimated" the powers he could give, and thought at first it would be tight and I would need to convert to GG to spam Fireballs to finish off the boss. In the end, this wasn't even needed.

When you say Hard Gaan-Telet I assume you mean Tower of Gaan-Telet and not Vicious Gaan-Telet. RBS is only useful for Horatio on VGT. In TGT (HGT) he has no resistance even with a VT if I'm not mistaken. I have only beaten VGT with a Vampire so far (even the VT VGT was a cakewalk) but have yet to beat it with any other class. TGT is significantly easier; so far I have beaten it with 13 classes, usually on the first or 2nd try, including Goatperson and Rat Monarch.

I am also of the opinion that a vampire could easily beat most open (not maze type) dungeons purist + VT as long as a few decent bloodcows are around. I can see why God worship was removed from Vampires.

I must say I find it extremely satisfying doing Gaan-Telet over and over, knocking my head against an invisible "barrier". On one of my runs (nowhere near my best one, mind you), I had 7 stacks of lifesteal. Thats only a few stacks less than a full VGT run.

A good bloodcow can take multiple hits, and is preferably lower level than your Vampire for double lifesteal effect. You would need multiple bloodcows, spread the lifestealing between them and heal them to full before starting on the boss. Use blood pools and health pots to get health to near full and use the bloodcows for overheal. Also hope that Platemail and Towershield are in the shops, as well as Balanced dagger and maybe imawall to help with initial leveling. Maybe I shouldn't have used "easily" in my statement. :)
