Biggest Defeats

You're biggest letdowns in desktop dungeons, here goes mine:
Having an awesome run in western jungle as a berserker, doing complicated task pt 2. I spent so much on preps I have so much gold with me, using it to just buy items from stores and converting those items. Converting every glyph in sight. Kill everything besides lower level monsters at level 8, the boss and one level 9 monster left. I'm worshipping jehora so I plan to chaos avatar on level 9, I have 100 piety. I mindlessly start clicking on all the lower level monsters, end up at half health eventually, and get killed by one of the monster's death gaze.

Playing through Naga City as a Dwarf Thief, I get all the way to kinisssch, but die when he's 1 shot from death. CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

I was sitting there in the same situation, then I realized I still had the ability to blood tithe to Dracul (who was, thankfully, my current god) for an extra blood swell.

Yeah, I've been 1-hit away from winning and lost because of mindless mis-clicks on low-level monsters before... sucks when it happens.

Killed the boss at Berserker Camp, clicked on a lvl 9 monster and died.
And I was doing Complicated Tasks 5 with rebalanced items.
