I don't think it's even working right now. With
75% death gaze I couldn't kill Blahblah even though he was at
just under 65% HP. I even gave myself first strike just to be on the safe side. Unless I'm missing something, death gaze is not fully functional.
Even if it did work, though, I'm not sure that there's a whole lot to be fixed. Outside of this strategy, Gorgons seem pretty weak to me so far, and I would be hesitant to call for a nerf quite so soon. Yeah, a Gorgon could death gaze most bosses at level 1, but that's not going to be of much help against the Avatar, Matron, Namtar, Naga City, etc. where you have multiple bosses or multiple forms to deal with. (And while 65% + death gaze would certainly be helpful, keep in mind that to get there you have to convert nearly everything that isn't nailed down, and/or scum for Pactmaker/JJ. After one Whupaz you won't have many resources left to get the other bosses' HP down.) You could probably death gaze Horatio with a Gorgon, but a Gorgon is (from my limited testing so far) probably too weak to actually make it that far in the Tower. And there are other low-level boss kill strategies, meaning Gorgons aren't all that unique in this regard: Rogues and Warlords can jack their base damage up to ridiculous levels using Orc conversion and Strength Potions (Berserkers and Crusaders can do even better, provided they get death protection or first strike); Wizards can do insane amounts of damage with PISORF for minimal MP cost (and Transmuters can do so with a net MP gain!).
