I don't think that Dwarf is actually a really good race for a Priest. I had this feeling from actual play, so I did the math and basically the higher your Health/Level, the better Halfling becomes versus Dwarf. This is why for a Rogue, Halfling is a terrible race choice, and Dwarf is one of the best. For the Priest, the opposite is true: since you already have a Health Bonus, which brings your total health to 16 per level (assuming 3 boosters), you are better off getting a Health Potion (restoring 6.4 Health per level) than +1 Health (which boosts health by 6.25%, and potion effectiveness by only 0.4 Health per level, to 6.8). Counting 4 "free" Health potions, the Halfling conversion allows for the restoration of 6.4 Health per level, whereas the Dwarf conversion only boosts restoration by (4*0.4=) 1.6 Health per level (granted, it also increases maximum Health, but even if you count a couple of level-up restorations, you will be far from the 6.4). So I think that the best race is Halfling; second is Orc and third is Human; average races are Elf and Gnome; and the Dwarf is maybe average, below average. (Goblin can be anything depending on XP available in dungeon, it can be one of the best for short levels, or utterly useless for long ones.)

I agree that halflings are generally the best race for priests. However, dwarves still work well if you can find additional means of %-based health recovery. The Fire Heart and Dracul in particular stand out as superb combos for dwarves. Seeing as the dwarf is generally a niche race, I support leaving it listed as a good option here. --Darvin 15:54, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
