Yeah today's really smells of design, really felt like the deck was stacked against you. Still won, but it took forever because I have not played much Vampire and really needed to think every move through. I usually peter out on DD once I get him, was fun running him up against that particular dungeon.

BONERS is me, didn't realize that was going to be my display name >_< Devs please help me out here!

I must say that it was not entirely clear what the non-descript little text entry field stands for. I thought about writing there something different, but then reconsidered and ended up writing my nick, just in case. Was the lucky move.

Today's challenge was really fun, I was first like "wtf?" then I was like "no, f**k", and then I was like, "oh you sneaky b*****d". Won it quite easily, but I guess that's just because I play _very_ _slowly_, and try not to jump to conclusions. (Actually I forgot about it and let it run today while I had breakfast, but it's only 10-15 mins or so, the rest is just the whole me being slow thing.)

Now, without giving away any spoilers... I think that the devs are channeling artistic pain into these challenges. Some of the combinations/situations made me think two things... 1) Devs "talk about" things in their challenges that they want to express. Like, I felt in today's challenge that the Devs are making a certain point about a certain thing that was part of something recently. (Ok, hard to be more clear without spoilers, but I'm sure you'll guess.). 2) I think we're just scratching the surface in terms of difficulty. Especially since the maps seem to be hand-made (or at least customized), there is another aspect to the challenge - even a straightforward run can become much harder by the equivalent of RNG screw-up (except in this case, it's dev screw-over instead :) ). The only way winning streak becomes meaningful is if there are maps even veterans will likely fail. My joke about taking down Naga City with a Spoon or Blue Bead may turn out to be not-so-funny after a while :)

Ah ! We need to find a way to talk about dailies. Because, honestly, who wants to talk about yesterday's daily while there is new juicy one ?
When do we feel the urge to brag and talk about our feat ? Usually, right after we have finished it. A few hours, it is already too late... Actually, what I really like about dailies, is to be able to talk of the same experience with fellow players.

I see various solutions :
  • Either we don't care of any competitivity, and create threads named after the day. Those who don't want to get spoiled before playing would just have to avoid it. Those who are looking for performance and optimisation, well, why not doing so ! It is also a worthy experience. However, some players will maybe not like that possibility of "cheating". The good stuff is that we don't need the devs for that. As they say, it is just a culture thing in the end. But it woud be even better if there is a subforum...
  • Another solution, would be the devs to let us write a comment once we have finished the level (in game). We would be allowed to read the comments only once we have finished the daily (and for days which are finished). That's a limited interaction, but the good point is that it avoids spoiling things out, but still talk of. It is also available for the vast majority of players which don't go on the forum - especially when the mobile version would have been released.

I didn't know what was the text entry field for either, and my first guess was that it's a field for password, since dailies are not fully finished and only devs should reach it. Yeah, this assumption is very silly, but I didn't read the topic just clicked on the link in excitement.
It was surprising that the 'password' was goat, and I didn't have to try anything complicated. After the run I realized my huge fail :D

A-ha! Another unmasking! So you are wearing the goat mask! 8-)

By the way, one thing is a bit bothering me about the dailies we see. And I say a bit, and it's really just a bit, overall I love the whole concept!

So, in some of the cases, I felt that there were clearly superior / inferior choices. Sometimes, proven so by the level, but most of the times, clearly from the get-go. I know that this is a test of the interface and leaderboard and functionality and build, and not of the actualy daily challenges, and even in its current form the dailies are awesome.

I really liked day 1 for example, you were like, ok, I pick this deity, then I need this item more than that one, etc. That one rocked. On day 2 however choices were already somewhat sneaky - Mystera, without PISORF, is not ideal for the Oasis. I played thru the map several times (used to be my favourite map for a long time), and I also played it several times with Mystera, but it's really hard because of the Dragon's retaliate. So anyone going in and picking her is in for a nasty surprise. Whereas GG is super for the map, every single boon he offers is dead-on right for just about any strat on the oasis. JJ is also awesome, health boost is a solid, reliable benefit that ignores Curses. On day 3 the choices seemed even less like "choices" - I spent something like 30 seconds looking through the offering, and then picked everything as a kind of "no brainer" considering the scenario. Who would pick The Earthmother for a Vampire run?

Yep, I'm wearing a hum... - I mean goat mask :)

Nice use of KB btw, you've beat me in piety today! And judging by your XP you didn't save one of your bosses for bloodcow, right?

Nope. My approach to bosses is, see them, kill them. I guess, between my adorable surface, and the really kind person I am deep within, there is somewhere a layer that is a cold-hearted back-stabbing bloodthirsty bitch :)

Neat idea though, I never thought about it. I normally only think of bloodcows as lower-level monsters, but I guess you're right, there can be cases when a same- or higher level monster can effectively be used that way!

^ There's a ton of sneaky stuff in today's daily, and unfortunately I remembered all of them only afterwards (facepalm).

And yeah, I'd love to discuss dailies but it's not even culture or anything - if I knew a few things beforehand I would've played it a lot differently. It's kinda painful in this particular challenge. I mean, there's a reason scout:stuff preps were overused back when they existed.

So idk, the way we are about stuff ussually we'd probably disect it into tiny bits all the way calling the "get every last bit of everything out and if somethings nailed to the floor that's just freebie nails to go with thatver that is" the optimal way to do it. Would've probably doubled/tripled all my numbers and reduced the time

Today's daily was excellent in design. These kinds of Vamp runs are my favorites. Even one of the glyphs were fantastic too.
