Amazing Game! Any Predictions on Release Date?

Hi Talented Developers,

You certainly cannot rush a masterpiece game, but was curious if you had an idea of the time frame in which you might release the "off-line" version? I just find spending too much time on-line tough sometimes, and am looking forward to the release, even if any patching is required later. I am proud to have been an early "pre-order" and have never seen such fine tuning given to any game. I predict this will win many awards :)

Sincerely,
Gamaholic :)

Thanks :) Actually hadn't been thinking about awards *after* release... Sorta feels like the IGF was all we needed!

We've got a lot of stuff to polish up before we're ready to release, but we're accelerating all the time. Quick look at the todo list includes:
-Kingdom screen rework, graphics
-Map screen rework, graphics
-New score screen implementation
-Loads of animations and sounds
-Menus ingame

And that's not counting tuning the metagame elements more, which we'll definitely do. So yeah, a while still, but hopefully not too many months. Don't want to make everyone wait.

It's not really waiting when you can already play it and you're getting new content weekly.

The dungeon HUD is what sold me this game. I am very excited for the new town UI and dungeon completion screen, among other menus. Keep up the good work!

Any ideas yet on an official release date?

The one thing I've (re)learned from this beta test is that I don't really like beta testing.

Why? I don't really understand what you mean? You don't like the wait?

No, the thing I don't like is the constant state of flux a game in beta is in.

I'm just not cut out to be a beta-tester. I'll wait until the final release before I play it again. And then I'll play the crap out of it!

Like it or not, most release dates are missed. I've seen headlines saying that ~75% funded Kickstarter projects miss their release date. Desktop Dungeons (or most projects, really) probably isn't any different.

Personally I hope for this summer or earlier :)
