Orcs?

Postby FDru on Sun Aug 07, 2011 6:36 pm

Sorry if this has been covered, but I only ran across a couple of other posts mentioning this issue when I was searching and my case is slightly different. From what I recall, I've never run across the orcs in a dungeon at all so have never had an opportunity to "rescue" them or whatever. Where are they supposed to show up?

If it matters, I've unlocked every other race and class that I'm aware of, and this is my dungeon map so far (right click and view image to see the whole thing):

Oh yeah, right! I gave them my gold, I drank their poison tea, and they still won't join me :(
Would be nice to have a race that converts items to base damage.

They were in a sub-dungeon in the level with the bridge-troll if I remember correctly.

Yeah that's where I found them, was using a paladin all the times I saw them too (kept accidentally killing myself and not getting them as a result). They don't show up every time, but they do show up.

michal.lewtal: did you also survive the dungeon?

I drank their tea, but I think I died that dungeon.

I found them at the eastern tundra. Since the subdungeon was ice as both the bridge and tundra, i think that's the prerequisite. As stated above survival is important, but there is no need to slay the boss. So you may just rush through several times without holding back on undiscovered tiles until you get them.

If it matters, I've unlocked every other race and class that I'm aware of, and this is my dungeon map so far (right click and view image to see the whole thing):

For me at least the Goblins appeared much later than the Orcs, but maybe that was just random.

Ah, it didn't occur to me that it was a random thing since I got all the other unlock races on the first visit to the dungeons I found them in.

Anyway, finally found them in Havendale Bridge after a few more tries. Thanks guys.

The current engine doesn't handle multiple "events" quite well. If you drank their tea but then defeated a special dungeon/finished a race or class quest/bring back a special item/etc.. If you want to be certain, just drink their tea and swiftly climb the ladder back to your kingdom.

Man, I didn't even know guys like Dracul and Goblins were in. Should have really mentioned that in the patch notes or something since I didn't really find a reason to replay the "puzzle" dungeons.
