Miser Tinker is bad, but Parched Halflings and Specialist Sorcerers are worse.

Parched Halfling/Gnome can do Taurog/GG, convert glyphs, convert to Dracul/GG, and convert 11-12 health potions for insane amounts of piety at least, no?

But point taken. Got it on my second try.. I didn't realize Translocation scrolls do not actually count as purchasing. So Miser Tinker means "Can't get more than two items", rather than "Get no items". It's not that bad, actually, only -sounds- really bad.

... I probably should have posted my Gnome Warmonger Warlord instead.

I didn't say it wasn't doable, just that it's annoying. GG->Dracul is just fricken awesome combo no matter what you're running.

Anything that lets you fuel a Trisword is never going to be that bad, and you even get a damage bonus when you chug a mana potion with that character.

Specialist Sorcerer is just nasty, though. Mana Shield counts as magical damage, meaning if you make a physical attack you're automatically disqualified from specialist.

Only if you count losing the whoopaz hit - otherwise that's a huge damned mana pool, and his healing helps with B2P. I did most of sub-vicious vicious token runs with a goblin sorcerer and I maybe landed a hit on a boss once. Prep Mysterea, grab mystic balance and you allready have 3 fireballs pre level - healing lets you fight other stuff while you fireball the boss and ding, and refreshment gets a goblin closer to a ding. If you take 2 hits of magic and get all the boosters you have 20 mana and every glyph you convert is 2 fireballs (mystic balance). And you can sqeeze CB for at least 4 fireballs.

It should kick ass at most any regular sub-vicious run with a bit of practice (and probably without, it's really strong).

You could also use Cleansing. I'm just saying. ;)

(Here's a random thought, move the temporary magic attack effect from GG's Cleansing to Taurog's Unstoppable Fury. Goodness knows the latter deity needs it way more than the former.)

Very good point; I've always said Taurog needs a good way to pierce physical resistance. However, cleansing would need something else if that happened.

Pure caster is definitely the way to go to do this. The larger problem is that if you're not aware of this detail it's not obvious *why* your specialist run fails. Also a couple dungeons can be a bit annoying for a specialist caster win; western Jungle, Cursed Oasis, and Shifting Passages in particular.

Eh, good intention, fails at big picture - this would screw taurog up immensly against stuff he's good for now. Try killing Bleaty then.

It's temporary, so you just need to pop a popcorn if you don't want the effect against the boss. See, now Taurog requires actual strategy! :D

Hmmm, this both needlesly complicates things, is off flavour and totaly useful at the same time. I like it. Well, what if it gave "true damage"? Woudl certanly be powerfull ^^

The way I see it, "magic" damage is really just fire damage, and Taurog thinks that setting your sword on fire is an awesome idea. Just look at his picture!
