Questions from a troubled player

Postby Drew on Sat Aug 13, 2011 3:39 am

Been playing the beta for a while now and have some questions.

Where do I find other gods other than Taurog, Glowing Guardian, and Mysteria?

How do I beat the boss with 50 layers of death protection?

Are goblins in beta yet? If so where can I find them?

When can we expect the vampire, gorgon, changeling and half-dragon to return?

When will we be able to upgrade races, the bank, and the witch?

Thanks!

Tikki is in a forced dungeon (in the direction you HAVEN'T done, I can't remember which correlates to which)

Dracul is in a random dungeon in the east I believe, most people find him in Halls of Steel. Since they are random you need to try A LOT of times to get them.

There are several strategies posted to beat The Indomitable, but they may be a bit outdated since they were before the Mystera nerf. Search the forums for them.

Goblins appear in the southern dungeons. They are also random like Dracul.

I don't know about the rest of the questions

The best way currently is using the monk class, taking either Glowing Guardian or Taurog (or both) and get 65% physical resist, and take him on early (level 6-7) while much of the dungeon is still unexplored. You can exploit the monk's regeneration to keep taking swings at him after you take down his health.

It's probably easiest if you use human with Whurrgarbl sword (if u have it) to offset the monk's damage reduction, and take the smugglers den preparation to give you extra tiles to regenerate with.

Finally! I'm really embarrassed to admit this, but I just now beat steel hall. I used a Turog human monk, with the knockback flail. I had the idea for the longest time I was going to beat it with a sorcerer, but that never happened. See, the sorcerer with his mana shield and the 10% knockback flail (which I used on this monk build) takes THREE hits off death protection per attack. I thought I could outheal indomitable by casting fireball in between attacks, but the heal rate isn't good enough. Same with paladin. Monk can do this though.

I didn't think the monk would work because of all the -% resist and weakness enemies. The first time I tried, I failed miserably, mostly because I wasn't using any deities. Turog takes the edge off and allows you to kill high level armors, wizards, and wraiths (who cares about mana burn), and save the low level golems and illusions for later.
