I think it would be better if the placement of objects were sensitive to the native wildlife.

I just got a Corrosive Creeper sitting on my boots.

I could almost see Taurog watching the scene, grinning...

You know that if you pick up each item he gives you right away, they will always spawn on his altar, right?

Yes but up until a moment like this I would never of thought to do it that way either... it's just wasting time (not a lot of time but waste none-the-less) mostly.

...and since the surrounding squares were empty, it was easy to assume that the game would be smart enough to spawn the item in one of the empty squares instead of completely randomly.
