^ Pqi did that to me with Dwarves one time!

And well, you don't have to convert much early with the gobbos sorcerer, and later dings you get with less popcorn help a lot in vicious dungeons and VT runs. There's a nice bit of unobvious sinergy where you get your level up the old fashioned way and grab refreshment, then convert a glyph (which now doesn't level you up), unload on the boss, this heals you up a bit - eat popcorn, ding. Fun!

Gobbo GG is a lot of fun regarless of class (allthough it does help to be on the cheezy end of the spectrum ^^). Pop a glyph, ding, grab humility - start the game really, really buff

I can't describe how excited I am to l earn more about this new class! :D

Oh, and since this is a bragging topic, How does VT Den of Danger Frank the Zombie with Parched sound? Nothing out of this world, but I'm starting to get a good handle on my "Interior Decorator" strategy (Stealing the name from Tinker 'cause it's perfect!) and I'm enjoying it quite a lot!

Well, thanks to the power of knockback, got both cheeky and VT on my Northern Desert run. Which class? None other than the Gorgon, Ms. Low Basic Damage herself. I tend to drastically underestimate the power of that class - death gaze is the main reason I was able to beat the Tower of Goo so easily after shoving a meatman into him repeatedly to bypass his resistances. Also feels good to do a vicious run without the balanced dagger for once - switches things up a bit.

^ He he he, knockback Gorgons so silly ^^

Right, so, err, well, if I'm to be needlesly sarcastic about the wiki entry on the bloodmage (which didn't even have Gobbos mentioned anywhere until yesterday), this could be interpreted as bragworthy:

So, what's to brag about? Everyone knows Vicious Steel is the easiest vicious dungeon, right? You just put some DR on you and slam the Indomitable into Blah Blah, drink a burn salve, etc?

I fireballed them both to death. With a 12 mana mana pool. Well, let's be fair - any bloodmage scoring Zombie Gold is a free win right there, and I did also get monster zoo, which is also like, the mail order subdungeon for a BM. I didn't get that much out of the Zombie Gold, mind you, and I also decided to... fireball down 5 level 8 zombies after having killed a 50 DP guy, and then also fireballed the other guy, so considering the rep Gobbos have around the place this maybe does make me a tiny bit of a boss

Right, well, here's another one:

If inventory space allowed for it, I would've also used Apheelsick to make this build Quatro Formaggi (Monk, Peekaboo JJ, Martyr Wraps and Poison Monk). Sooooooo much sinergy between everything, sooooo many ways to go with it. More in the playthrough thread, but this little Dwarf is totaly T1. The build is too exploration inefficient to take on VGT most likely, but the build has surprised me before. Like, every time I played it actually.

Ladies and Gents - the Chaos Dwarf.

Who's awesome, baby? That's right - no resists, no PISORF, just plain 100% juicy G'Nomish Fun! Gnome Tinker rocks!!!1!1!!one!

Image

And I had pretty abysmal shop luck - but no complaining, a deed's a deed.

EDIT: Ok, bit more explaining might be due... I did swap deities once I realized that the Matron has retaliate and my fireballs won't bring her down with impunity. (I'm sure there's some lesson there. I have a déja vu feeling about the Matron and her Retaliate... oh well, probably not important.) So, I swapped over to GG who is, believe it or not, an awesome late game deity, especially for a Gnome who wants health refills. The economy works like this: Tinker drowns in gold (not me, the class in general), so can afford to pick up shop junk. Basically everything is shop junk if you have enough cash. So, convert shop junk -> earn piety and Mana Potions. Convert Mana Potions -> earn more Piety. I boosted my Piety by cca. 50 points on the fly by doing nothing else but convert stuff. Which then gives 3 extra Protections, which is a full health/mana refill.

Btw Gnome Tinker of Mystera is really awesome, a bit less straightforward than the Sorcerer, but also much more versatile (case in point).

Wow, I just wanted to ask - how in the blazes? o.O

(also laughed irl at Tinker drowns in gold )

BIG congrats!

Also - thanks for another spellcastery Tinker build, that whole Elf Rogue bussiness was a delight, I'll definitely try this somewhere. And I gotta adimire the Mage Plate prep, always been underprepped, that thing ^^

---

Edit - did a Goblin JJ Bloodmage on Dragon Isles. Every JJ BM is brutal, but the Goblin works both mana and health side of the bargain and also manages to add another thing to the long list of stuff BM ignores - fighting stuff at all XD

This wasn't easy:

But it can be done :)

Ok... The bragging part is that I rainbowed Dragon Isles. But what got me to post was that I left something juicy for last:

Image

I know that the Crusader can reach much higher damage, but that's for only one strike. And this wasn't even a stunt run - I just kept doing stuff, and was like, wow 354 damage points, with all the spellslingers & jack-of-all-trades I've been partial to playing lately, I forgot how cool this feels. The only thing even cooler is to do this in Gaan-Telet, and switch over to Taurog afterwards... 8-)

Nice stuff everywhere Lujo and Tinker!
That Transmuter damage is truly remarkable btw :D
I can only imagine how fun it could have been, my last Orc Berserker only had half as much damage and even that could oneshot the dragon guards.
Somebody spilled raspberry juice all over the place!
