And another one bites the dust... but it's not goat :P

Astral clocks in with a respectable 43 minute time, and our 8th winner. The top 5 are now all locked in. Meanwhile, fell_ark continues his march up the ladder and currently sits at #9, so two people have dropped off the top 10 since my last post. There are still three people above him who have yet to run, so he may rise further yet.

Wow. Judging by the leader boards this was the hardest DERP so far, at the moment only 8 players managed to beat it.

There were many potential solutions to this map: like Dodgestep abuse or Refeshment fueled spell barrage, though I was content with Binlor's SS spam. As an extra I took his KB boon for double melee damage and before starting the fight with Evolvia I burned through some piety to up my MR so not even the magical attack forms are troublesome. I kinda overdid the corrosion stacking on Evolvia which resulted in me running out of blackspace for Bleaty. Since I had KB the blinking wasn't problematic.
Just for fun I didn't use potions or DP on Bleaty, simply went with overeheal + 4 stacks of SS followed by PoS.

Btw the shop pool and the sub was really nice, the spoon is always helpful and surprisingly the vampiric blade's single lifesteal can turn most lower level monsters into bloodcows. After killing Bleaty I was out of health and mana, but the blade let me pull another ding. Have I kept my Burndayraz I would have been able to grab Unstoppable.

Thanks for the good wishes Darvin :)

Oh and congratz for everyone who beat this!
Somebody spilled raspberry juice all over the place!

Somewhat true. I just barely squeaked (sorrynotsorry, as my fiancée would say) through this one but I now know there are half a dozen things (like, using Stoneskin at max piety, using the Death Protection on Goatbrains rather than Evolvia, being more circumspect with my attempts to use knockback-fu to chain catapults early on... would have been a damn sight easier with Pactmaker rather than the Venom Ward but I had no way of knowing that'd spawn with Conjunction) I could've done better to make the run a sure thing.

I think a lot of the 'cull' effect is that this is the first one since they've gone live that has really been a challenge for me (and I think is just generally a really serious challenge for the class, given me and Darvin could both have failed with an unfortunate shapeshift). This is the first one where I've had to go in with a plan, play reasonably well and then kitchen-sink it and get a little lucky to get the win.

Well, where you explore did matter for me, in retrospect. Couldn't find Fireball, couldn't find bleaty and I converted Lemisi without using it, which ended up terrible. I was playing with no info beforehand, failed to focus on a strat in time...

Half an hour later I had breakfast and saw all the stuff that would've at least been a fair shot.
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!

Gunna be on the road for the next few hours, but with 20 minutes to go and no notable names currently in-dungeon it seems very unlikely we'll get another winner at this point, so congrats to the seven other survivors of today's meatgrinder: Gimb, Blovski, fall_ark, goat (aka Astral), Tinker, MTaur, and magzville.

Anyone who wants to be cheeky and hasn't played yet can get the 9th place spot by losing as quickly as possible ;-)
