Funny thing, I took patches for some fun, and he teleported me right on top of JJ at level 3. Made the rest of the dungeon a breeze.

I almost made an account a few days ago to vent rage at failing the rat king daily. I was 2 mana away, or like 20 hp, away from killing evolvia. Gargh.

Daily 18/05/2015 - Halfling Sorcerer on Ick Swamp
Bah, I hate Ick Swamp, and Frank (is that guy weighted more heavily on dailies or what?) just makes it worse. Fortunately, today's daily loadout and map layout was very generous. Sorcerer with Mystera available as a prep is nice, fireball just sitting near the dungeon entrance is basically a free fireball magnet prep in and of itself, CYDSTEPP gives peace of mind as mis-click protection on a map filled with barbing bushes, shop pool was decent (not much in the way of HP+ though) and there were plenty of easy opportunities for power-leveling. The subdungeon also was a very favorable one given the bosses, as corrosion helps negate the weakening of Itsssama and is one of the best ways to break through Frank. I got the Elven Boots with my translocation seal then took a second hit of Mystera's mana boon to (combined with my extra booster prep) hit the 25 mana threshold for 10 mana per mana potion. I never did get around to getting Mystic Balance even though I could afford it, as I used HALPMEH for both boss battles. I bought the platemail to give me some extra melee longevity and took down Frank first (with a slight hiccup as platemail complicates mid-battle dings) then turned around and cleared Itsssama. Since I already had most of the map explored, I converted Platemail, bought a fortitude tonic to clear off the weakening, and went for unstoppable.

My time is inaccurate; I was about 40 seconds faster than the leaderboard indicates (though as of this writing I'm still #1 right now).

Close call this time. I have a really hard time with potion races. I had enough conversion stuff to squeeze out only a couple hits more than I actually needed, but that would have been my health pendant, my sticky stick, and my Badge of Honor.

I think part of my problem is that I'm reluctant to use potions while leveling, and then I end up losing tons of blackspace looking for things I can kill. GG and MA preps were really double-edged... I only got +2 MP from Mystera thanks to prep penalties after converting in.

Of course, Frank is a monster, so that's also part of it. But even with inflated health fueling the potions, it was difficult to pull this off, at least for me. You might as well start crossing your fingers every time a potion race or Rat Monarch comes up on a Hard map from now on, because that seems to be the most likely way to end an MTaur run. Actually, I can hardly remember any at all, except maybe on Rock Garden which is more like normal-and-a-half...

I forget what the other options were. Something unappealing like Slaying Wand. It wasn't my finest moment.

I think I wanted GG to leverage the Sorcerer's early game, and I thought I'd have time to farm Mystera later... X-P

I had a bad feeling about today's daiy. I just clicked a Warlock and died. Can't even call it misclick, because I really wanted to click the Warlock, I just didn't think about the minor detail that I'll die if I do so. Straight 2000 places drop in ranking... ;)
