Whew, that was one of the biggest scares I've had in a while. Oh, I won the dungeon handily; JJ Rat Monarch in Venture Cave? Yeah, even playing him like a dog he's still going to win that. No, the nerve-wracking part was when I had trouble connecting to the server to confirm my win. Five minutes later, I finally seem to have a decent connection and have confirmed my win has registered. Whew, huge relief.

Rat on VC was pretty easy. JJ is just plain awesome for them, so I went that route, it did get a bit messy with some of the early minor punishments (Poison AND Mana Burn kind of sucks... ;) ), but after the first level-up things were back on track. Thing is, high-health bosses are pretty meaningless for a Rat. So are resists. The only bosses that I find somewhat difficult are the ones that inflict Poison / Mana Burn (i.e. Jörmungandr, Tomithy, Tormented One), or do massive damage (Bleaty), but these usually have low health so can just be fireballed to death...

Since it was an easy dungeon, I did today with EM for a bit of variety instead of the usual JJ.

Halfling Thief Berserker Camp

Very easy pissorff run. i went to the bathroom, and to another room to take a different mouse just so i don't missclick in the middle of the run, and it was still 6 minutes. Could've been much much faster.
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!

Hmmm. Tanking a single hit is the biggest problem for Halfling Thief. I guess one melee hit and then spell-spamming to avoid Berserk might do it, but I forget how much health the boss has. And I don't know who the other boss is going to be either.

At least Halfling has natural synergy here, even if I don't really do potion races the best.

Nice to have an easy one after the back-to-back Goatperson and Rat Monarch runs. Didn't even need to trigger chaos avatar or drink potions, and still had another level up catapult in reserve. Very easy and relaxing run, didn't even realize how quick my time was until I saw it. B2P BURNDAYRAZ to power-level off of those wraiths, then the same combo for the Tormented One, then switch to PISORF for Bjorn.

By the way, anyone not prepping JJ is insane. This dungeon sometimes spawns powerful monsters on the bridge, sometimes back-to-back so you can't PISORF them out of the way. Without WEYTWUT you're gambling that you'll have the tools you need to beat or move that monster. Not a risk you should be taking if you want a long streak. I've seen stuff like Bjorn on the bridge with only enough XP to reach level 4 on the starting side of the river. Don't pass up the free pass offered by JJ in situations like these.

Still not a fan of Halflings, but at least 2x Health Boost from JJ brings some synergy into the mix, along with the thief potion passive. I potion-fought with the native boss, and bought a Reflex for landing two hits right when he would become berserk. Meanwhile, I was fireballing the other boss. When I couldn't hit the first boss anymore, I fireballed for a ding. Then some more fireballs and a mana potion or two more were left for the shade. I stuck around to get Prestige: 1 off of Chaos Avatar.

Overall, my mana was stretched a little thin with the bosses, and I didn't have many mana potions. It was sort of close, but it would've still been winnable with a bit of fiddling if I had come up short at that stage. I think I could've leveled up naturally while farming the piety for Chaos Avatar so I would have been able to firebomb the shade at the next level if necessary, at least with the help from the health potions granting mana.

Probably not really a bad run, but Halfling/Gnome puts me on edge a little.

Simultaneously spiked both bosses at level 5. Honestly could've started it earlier. Love Thieves. As Darvin notes, JJ removes the Berserker Camp's main problem.
