06/06/2015 - Gorgon in Ick Swamp
One of my least favorite classes in one of my least favorite dungeons. Joy. In addition, I played this one like an utter dog; constantly over-exploring, forgetting to garden before leveling up, even once trapping myself behind a statue and requiring a mana potion to break myself out. The fact that I couldn't locate BURNDAYRAZ until after I'd already killed one of the bosses was particularly vexing, as it denied me a lot of leveling opportunities.

Overall, though, the favorite glyph and deity loadout made it pretty straightforward and let me get away with my atrociously careless play. JJ and BYSSEPS right near the dungeon entrance with Dracul for late-game conversion options is pretty slick. Shredding Itsssama's resistances was child's play, then poison-fighting Firstborn from there wasn't a huge trouble.

This wasn't supposed to be an easy run, per se, but I wasn't expecting a close call. It came down to Deathgaze with all resources spent and 7HP left.

Joined Dracul early on, which seemed like the safe thing. Forgot that this map is, like, 60% undead. Accidentally took a punishment around level 5. Drank a bunch of pools fighting Itssssssssssssswhatever and converted to Binlor (WHERE WERE YOU ALL THIS TIME???), but not in time to stack meaningful MR. Regen-fought Firstborn off of the basement exploration, two health potions, and a shiny new Platemail. Really wanted to grab Agnostic's Collar and desecrate Dracul at that point, but Platemail was definitely going to do more DR in the boss fight given that there were neither walls nor piety to get the 24% MR or so I would've needed to break even... The Blood Curse right before converting did help the fireballs, though. :-P

Anyway, I underestimated that one. I could've derped less, but it still would've been harder than I'd thought. Don't join Dracul early on Ick Swamp... the wiki might've warned me. X-P

7W, 34L on the DERP so far. It probably doesn't help that you'd have to beat Naga City with 3 classes to even be able to practice...

P.S. - Hold on to your potion shop just in case you need a Fortitude Tonic! If you fight Itssssama last, then you won't really need it, but if you fight him first (he does physical damage and has lowish health, so a Gorgon can usually do it moderately early unless you deped like I did), the Fortitude Tonic is probably in the cards.

P.P.S. - How am I doing the most damage so far? Just clearing the map should do a bit more... I guess I Whurrgarbl-fought a couple vampires mid-game though.

And of course I found the level 8 Meat Man not until level 7, when ideally, a Gorgon would be fighting that at, like, 5 or maybe 6... It's a big deal on a map that's mostly unpoisonable...

The default Glyph loadout (no glyph preps) is: BURNDALYRAZ, WEYTWUT, BYSSEPS, HALPMEH, and CYDSTEPP

Not sure which one disappears if you pick fewer, or which one is gained if you pick extra.

Very generous item, glyph and god setup. Easy run imo, the range of +% attack items on this map makes the Gorgon far easier than some other Hard dungeons, Endiswal lets you bypass a little of the map's challenge, Biceps and JJ are both great for dealing with Itssamna, then Drac + Agnostic's Collar for a lilting little endgame against Firstborn. Midas, Platemail, Bloody Sigil, Troll Heart... plenty of good items and conversion fodder. Suppose the only thing I did odd was take out two or three level 1 warlocks while poisoned by JJ at level 1 to get +10/15% attack bonus instead of bonus XP.
