Goblin Monk, Rock Garden

It wasn't too bad, but not the cleanest either. I derped around with Alchemist Scroll a bit obsessively, and then used two potions on JJ on top of that. I only had XP, Chaos Avatar, and a small number of potions to refill with, but it was fine.

Both Platemail and Martyr Wraps were available today, so that's nice. This could've been a lot harder. Goblins don't especially like triple bosses, since they have only so many free dings to go around. And monks want stats, not dings - they can refill just fine by exploring, so they'd rather have damage.

You could go JJ for WEYTWUT and knockback, but I didn't go that way. My inventory was too full thanks to that Alchemist Scroll that wasn't really necessary. Well, it made it easier to tank Jorgmunder, anyway.

The magic golem was probably the most irritating. It wasn't too bad when saved for last, though. Afterward, I got Tony Danza+2.

Agree that the magic golem was irritating.

Kind felt like I played that one like a dog, but the final spike was painless and straightforward and I would have ended hoarder if not for clearing inventory space by converting the no-CP WEYTWUT.

Wait what this is a Monk run?

I...I'm 99% explored and has targeted Magical monsters from the beginning...and only now do I realize this is a Monk run?

Oh god I guess it's because Rock Garden difficulty that I haven't realized...I hope I haven't screwed up yet :? brb...

---
Okay. Exploration all gone. I'm level 8 and have only finished the Physical Golem. This is kinda bad.

---
Level 9. 85 piety with GG but Protection is already 20 cost. Bosses still untouched. Thing is...even now I still *really* want that Enlightenment: I don't have any tools against the Magic Golem either way, and since I already farmed piety with Taurog before, I don't want to go back in, even thought that's obviously the best idea for now.

---
Okay. Enlightened and lvl 10. I've got 95 piety and since Protection spam is boring, I converted to Taurog again. With the three essential boons it seems that I would still come short of beating the remaining Golem. Not really a problem though since I still have 2 Health potions on the ground.

---
But that wasn't needed either, since I still got the Jadetooth potion in the subdungeon from before. Thanks old me!

So I actually got another two levels after this. Pity I hadn't stayed in GG for the mad stacking piety, but choices are choices, and it feels good to salvage a run gone (not that terribly) wrong. :P

Yeah, lots of dragonspawn on that one. Between them and all the same-level golems, there wasn't much high-level killable stuff to go after. I used Martyr Wraps to go after about three really silly kills, and then I had this lovely WONAFYT garden left over that I couldn't one-shot because I'm a Monk...

Wanted to keep it a little challenging so ran it purist. Main challenge was a lack of decent targets in the early game and I wasted a lot of time and effort on rather small things. Eventually took out the level 7 and 8 meatmen at humility level 4 and 5 respectively and then started on the Jormungandr and the Phys Res Golem simultaneously. Was in GG and without the prep penalty it worked out alright for me. Grabbed Enlightenment through the Agnostic's Collar in the middle of dealing with those two, blew a couple of punishment-free potions to take them out simultaneously. Once only the Magic Golem was around it was plain sailing, ended the game with Jadetooth's potion, a fair few tiles, a Taurog desecration up my sleeve and plenty of stuff to convert.
