Gnome Bloodmage, Southern Swamp

Vampire Chef subdungeon really early. Slowed me down a lot. Really obnoxious subdungeon, and this map was highly winnable without it.

I hardly used any of the class traits at all. Never used BLUDTUPOWA. There were too many times that I could simply tank a hit instead of spending all that health on one fireball. Namtar's Ward got some use, though. I prepped health and mana boosters, skipping over Flame Magnet in favor of Balanced Dagger; I figured I'd still have something to do if BURNDAYRAZ was hiding. Namtar's made it too easy to get mostly +2lvl kills, though.

I ended up PISORFing the boss with a big stack of mana potions. All those stacks of Sanguine could've been nice for something or other, but it was a one-boss dungeon and I didn't even take any hits after the initial level-up heal. I did use the pools to get Unstoppable, because it just feels right to kill them all.

Went JJ over Flame Magnet, because between the Balanced Dagger and Namtar the early game is covered. I ended up picking up the Fine Sword, an early health boon, and actually mostly just bashed face and WEYTWUT for high level kills very effectively, with no other glyph support. PISORF was seen early but my inventory was full of good stuff, I was doing well without it, and the Fine Sword was gonna be converted later so why rush? I just kept finding more and more +2 kills and by the time I could think about converting Fine Sword the map was pretty much completely won. Some seriously overkill preps.

Vampire Chef had a really unbalanced loadout. There was exactly one Sang Vine in the entire crop, way in the back, and like 2 of another one. Meant I didn't really get to get the bonuses I wanted.

Normal maps are always fun to screw around. Converted everything and went Taurog all the way. Got the usual leftmost 4 badges and Specialist. Could have got Miser & Warmonger, but I bought the Mana Pendant and Binlor-farmed a bit at level 1. Feels bad for the Mana Booster prep though.

Late game XP & Piety stat tip: Always try to convert to EM for a map-wide slowing Entanglement and then Plantation for massive piety to convert back to your favourite Diety. There's probably enough piety for you to convert to EM again after mopping up to gain several extra Plantation piety.

Not much to say today. Spent potions and blood pools to wipe out the level 9's early, then lined up a level up catapult when I finally found the boss. Didn't even need Chaos Avatar, potions, or blood pools.

By the way, in case anyone is interested, we just finished the Vegetarian Vampire subdungeon entry with Darvin. Probably not a revelation to anyone, but may be at least a bit helpful to some players! 8-)

Just to clarify, you do need to kill the plants in the specific order, not just by quantity, right? It's tricky to test because I don't exactly feel like messing around and throwing a run on the off chance when it comes up..

I feel like I once got the order flipped by mistake and tried to make it work out anyway, but that it didn't work. But I don't remember very clearly.
