Nothing flash, just purist and cleared the map with Taurog's gear and 40% sanguine. Didn't find any gods I really wanted so went Binlor->Taurog for the extra 20 piety and knockback for the pure tank gnome boodmage. In the ended I didn't need any death protections, which was a shame.

Does anyone else just hate the swamp?
I find that map so frustrating...with the bloodmage, I was forced to kill a monster then I had to step in the blood pool that I didn't need because it was the only path available. I finally found Endiswal and that solved that problem.

I won, but I didn't enjoy it much. I had about a quarter of the map still in black space when I killed Jorg just after I hit level 7. The double dagger combo was working really well for me...poison and balance. Went faithless.
Started with Namtar, Fireball Magnet, Subdungeon and Mana boosters.

Maybe because it's the weekend, but after I killed the boss I just wasn't into it. Found the Vampire Chef and didn't even talk to him to find out what the freaky plants were all about..will have to read up on that.

Considered finishing the map but had no interest in it today so all scores were way down the list. Is there a prize for winning with worst total damage, piety and max time? That would be me. :-)

One thing I do find interesting is all of the wildly different approaches that people have recorded here for how they handled this level. I like that.

But now, having won a few this week, I have a horrible feeling that something really nasty is coming soon.

Goat in the swamp...that would be my nightmare.

This one was a fast run because I didn't have to kill any plants and I found the boss with about half the map explored. I didn't have enough health to take a hit though so I just spammed fireballs and used up all my potions and bloodpools.

Hey Darvin,

Thanks for the options you laid out regarding the blood pool avoidance. Much appreciated!

Decided to go for the minimum possible xp today. Gnome bloodmage is great for this, and the preps were ideal, with JJ, martyr wraps, and Namtar's ward available.

Half-Dragon, Southern Swamp

At first I thought there was a glitch in the vegetarian vampire subdungeon. There isn't - look carefully at your traits and the enemy traits, and just think for a minute what you're getting into... When I realized exactly how hard it was going to be to get anything out of it, I quickly abandoned it, since a Normal level dungeon is easily beatable without the buffs.

I was a little iffy about prepping 3 large items and JJ, and indeed my inventory was a bit cramped. On plus side, when Binlor spawned, I didn't really feel like dealing with the hassle of making him happy. On the other hand, Stone Sigil would've been better than Bear Mace, since indeed the large item became conversion fodder fairly early, and Stone Sigil is worth more CP.

I ended up converting BURNDAYRAZ on the ground and just spamming HALPMEH instead. Between the massive CP bonuses and the presence of snakes and the numerous blue shrubs for knockback, it was easily more efficient to just heal up.

After failing a VT run earlier today, this was a walk in the park overall.

Not much to report today; went for Unstoppable/Parched with the old reliable JJ rather than doing anything special.
